Okay, I completely forgot that Marnie's rendition of "Stronger," was season 2.
Okay, I completely forgot that Marnie's rendition of "Stronger," was season 2.
The ironic thing is that Marnie arguably had the best storyline all season. Her being a hot-mess and sleeping with Ray was the greatest part of the show this season (sans Elijah).
For some reason I always thought people applied to/went to certain MFA programs because they really wanted to work with a certain writer who taught there. For example, the only reason someone would ever want to go to Syracuse would be to learn from George Saunders. Universty of Michigan would be to learn from Lorrie…
I hated Marnie in seasons 1&2, but now I'm loving this hot mess version of her — it was probably the best decision the writers could have made for her character.
I loved Hannah's comment to Marnie before the play started, "Doesn't he (Desi) also have a girlfriend."
I'm guessing it was a combination of carelessness, overconfidence, and the fact that she was probably not going to class too often.
I agree. They need to work her in the storylines better, however I think she's best used in small doses though — except that usually means Zosia Mamet doesn't get to do much.
Elijah having his own show would be the greatest thing to happen.
When I watched that scene, I thought Shosh complaining about not being able to study was more about her making a point that Jessa was being destructive to everyone around her and not really about Shosh caring about school.
I agree, but Shosh wasn't really studying this semester as demonstrated by her trying to study hungover in the library, but decides to sleep instead. Hannah has been writing.
I'm not saying Hannah isn't a despicable person, I'm just saying the clues were there. She's also an emotionally unbalanced woman in her 20's who has made rash decisions like this in the past.
Judging by the finale and the odd timeline of the show, I wouldn't be surprised if season 4 took place two years later after Iowa…and Hannah goes back to New York to get her book/memoir published after her contract runs out, but discovers she's not the same writer she used to be, has to stop it from getting published,…
I agree this was a weak finale, but they did kind of foreshadow that Hannah would drop Adam for her career in the episode where Hannah's grandmother dies and Hannah's mother tells her not to try to fix up an "odd" man and to focus on her career.
I haven't felt more for a character on this show than I did for Shosh in that scene. Great job by Zosia.
Anyone else find it hard to believe Hannah got into the Iowa Writers' Workshop of all creative writing MFA schools to get into? I feel like I would have believed this if it was any other grad school, but they had to pick the best one in the freaking country?
This is the closest thing we'll see to Britta Perry's "real" Facebook.
I understand that you were replying to my justification about Troy and Annie, but with all due respect I was discussing Troy and Annie in relation to the "Nice Guy," trope. When you turn it around and say it's a "Nice Girl," Trope, Annie actually fits in perfectly and your strong feelings toward the charcater and…
I agree completely. It's best they leave this as an Andy/Ann thing and never speak about it unless one of the characters decides to exit the show in six years.
This article isn't just about B99. It's about a trope and all examples of the trope do not have to align exactly with what's happening on B99 with Boyle and Diaz. Morgan and Tamra were brought up as were Schmidt and CeCe. On TMP, I don't think Tamra is 100% aware of Morgan's crush on her (he did ask her out, but…
Once I got this notification I just realized I somewhat set myself up for this…
