One thing that bothers me is that we were able to find light in the darkness because neither light nor darkness can ever be destroyed, and then darkness was…destroyed???

I'm not going to argue with any of your points because I understand where you're coming from for each of them, but I will say that I was able to derive some enjoyment from the finale regardless.

I didn't like how easily the Varrick plot got resolved and Mako got freed. One Water Bender foe points the finger at Varrick, and instead of being all "What? More of this insane theory," Varrick acts guilty and tries to get away.
