For some reason, during the scene where Nina takes her oath, I was expecting the pin she was given to have a microphone in it.  That could have been interesting.

Just watching Nina read Stan's face when he says "I would never do anything to hurt you", his non-answer answer to her asking if he killed Vlad, was terrific.  She sees past his bullshit and then just brushes it aside, doing what he expects of her.  My only surprise here was that she hadn't figured it out before and

So . . . instead of an episode, we get homework?

*BRAAAHHHHHM*

SAVE ME, BARRY!

We don't know if he's dead or alive, sure, but no one's found him.  Granted, the area north of the Wall is pretty damn big — for all we know, some wildling could have pulled a Misery on him.

And if Pod has "presence in the moment" and intuitively excellent technique?  Oh MY.

I didn't see the mutiny coming, though it made sense — hell, there was even a tacit threat to Craster when the Night's Watch returned, staring at him, hands on their swords.  Guess it was just a matter of time.  Granted, this episode's title did make me immediately think that we'd be losing Jeor Mormont, I just wasn't

Well-paced AND managed to jam so much in!  The only bit that I felt was given short shrift to the point of irrelevance was our brief visit with Bran, with Jojen doing a ride-along in his nightmare.  That scene was so minor it felt like it only existed to be a segue.

*Loras bows to Sansa*

Hopefully she won't succumb to that aspect of her genetic heritage.  Certainly Targaryen is sort of out of the question, what with there not being too many of them left and Dany being sterile (or at least she believes she is).  Does kinda bring into question what the line of succession would be, but the point is moot

I loved how her direct manner took him aback at first.

The part of his scene with Tyrion, where Varys is talking and we only see his face in a badly lit mirror, he was truly menacing.  His tone of voice remains placid, but his eyes — my oh my, even without seeing the crated, mouth-sewn-up sorceror, I would sure as fuck never cross Varys, in any sense of the word.

Despite my enjoyment of those characters, I kinda liked that they were reduced to being a couple of old squires to Dany's conquering queen.  I'm sure they'll be more helpful in the future, but boy Dany pulled that shit off, and seemingly without their advice, given their initial surprise at the turn of events.

Oh man, when his eyes went wide watching Theon react to being back in the torture chamber — first thing outta my mouth was "Smeeeeeeeeagol . . ."  Awesome.

Oooh, wait wait — Pam, from Archer!

It's now Sunday, and it's still stuck in my head — a thing I scrolled down here just to post.

Actually, it was just Neal from White Collar popping over to complete a caper.

Not sure, since the official site doesn't say, but Wikipedia lists season 1 as being 10 episodes.

Wow.  Would watch.
