Isn't that basically the plot of Pandorum from 2009? Passengers aboard a sleeping ship wake up to find former crew members from hundreds of years ago have evolved into mutant carnivals.

I actually think the third act is the only redeeming thing about that late 90's crapfest. Spider Gary Oldman! Jared Harris as son turned grownup space hobo! Goofy time travel paradoxes!

This movie made me actually rethink BvS bc despite incoherence, it was trying to do something. Besides some nifty visuals and ideas here and there, watching SS was so unpleasant. It never feels like a movie.

Because they could probably play brother and sister?

Supernova is exactly what I was thinking about while watching this godawful trailer.

The teaser trailer for Lost in Space was actually pretty good. It used that Jerry Goldsmith music from the Judge Dredd trailer. *shrugs*

Yeah it really tried something different. I appreciate that it opens slowly and lets its plot unfold. The section in the middle where he revisits the bomb site and Mariko tries to reach him after they become intimate is just good, straight up drama that you don't even see in adult dramas anymore. Logan looks like that

Two years ago, I actually auditioned for the role of one of the deputies that took the shooter down. It was an exciting but easygoing process. They really stressed sounding like the real guy so I studied video and audio recordings of him. I had him down cold and even fit the guy's specs perfectly (mixed race, close to

The scariest had to be the one with the boss who is just a disembodied voice from his office but turns out to be a janitor mop that comes alive. Genuinely unnerved me when I saw it.

Totally agree. Listen to the expanded score and you can hear some really layered instrumentation going on. It elevated the movie (which I like a lot, haters be damned) and actually makes it rather hopeful.

Elfman's Hulk theme is one of his best and one of the reason's I love that movie so much. Sadly he hasn't really done anything of note since. If more composers experimented with how themes sound and with the instruments to compose them with, we would get more interesting stuff. Like that opening ostinato from Man of

Not quite. I'll keep a list of favorite or interesting trailers. I'm mainly fascinated by the marketing and the online hunt for certain movies.

Youtube is the first place I usually go. That link is just a 3 minute clip from the movie with the title card edited at the beginning.

Question for you avclubbers: where can I find the official trailer to this movie?

Good question. I think it might've been the avclub review that said Flag's soldiers change in size from 2 to 20 at any given moment. These movies really need to cut some characters or kill more off.

SS was such a jumbled disappointment. I was rooting for it but I guess I underestimated WB's tinkering. Even more aggravating because a fun plot was in there. It should have been:

Anyone else think Bourne Legacy should've followed Edgar Ramirez's Paz from Bourne Ultimatum? He's inspired by Bourne after not killing him and decides to pick up the mantle of taking down the system. It's a perfect start to a new series (and watch the Carlos miniseries if you don't think Ramirez can hold his own).

I've read a few recent interviews with Powell. Apparently he got very disillusioned with how violent and careless the current landscape of film has become. It's why he has stuck to mostly whimsical animated movies. He's very political too and feels he has an obligation to only serve live action films that can enhance

I do love those Mask of the Phantasm main titles!

I'm an unapologetic Zimmer fan. I loved his work on Man of Steel. His theme is heroic and the alien ambience he underscores it with for the krypton stuff gives it a nice edge. Listen closely to his themes and the movie becomes much more hopeful. BvS is pretty good just not as eclectic as his Dark Knight stuff.
