Speaking of old: My earliest music-buying memory is buying a 45 of Alice Cooper's "Go to Hell" at K Mart when I was about 9. I have no idea how I was even aware of this song (did it get radio play?) but I distinctly remember the joy of feeling like I had really gotten away with something.

PARKS AND REC IS PERFECT AND WILL LAST FOREVER.
(puts fingers in ears) LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA…

    BROWN BANANAS and rotten peas…

I can still recite "The Smoke Off" thanks to Dr. Demento, but my personal favorite of Silverstein's is "Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout", which is more of a kids piece, and a classic I grew up with. It was a sad day for me when he died.

Has nobody noticed the laser pointer used to get the cat's attention in at least one scene?

I am so excited to see this review. In my heart I know that my enthusiastic recommendation of this movie in the comments of the Eric Roberts interview is what prompted it.
Also, if the kid playing the rich guy's son is straight, then I'm Anne Hathaway.

I've found myself laughing out loud more than I would have expected during the last few episodes. I hope it gets another season to keep improving.

You know, I've been trying not to to jump on the "hate Taylor Swift" bandwagon, but Christ is she making it hard.

Holy crap, I can't believe A Talking Cat!?! came up! That gem popped up on my Netflix "recently added" this past week, and I knew I had to watch it. I think it was that second exclamation mark that drew me in. Roberts' comment that it's "special" and "weird" only partly do it justice. His voice-over is bizarre, and

I probably know just enough about philosophy of religion to get me into trouble, but if the banana is a teleological argument for the existence of God, wouldn't the coconut (or any other pain-in-the-ass-to-open fruit) just as well disprove it?

I had forgotten how great the soundtrack was until I watched the movie again for the first time in quite a while. "Rainbow Connection" always brings a tear to my eye, and "Movin' Right Along" is my favorite of the jauntier tunes.
"Ah, a bear in its natural habitat… A Studebaker."

Is clip #2 a not-so-subtle confirmation that this is the last season?

    Meat Loaf!

I felt exactly the same about the show. Loved that Tuesday night thrill when the theme started. When the series ended, it felt like saying goodbye to a close friend. I haven't seen it since it went off the air, but watching the above clips makes me think it still holds up.

I was a huge fan of the show, and distinctly remember having the same feeling about poor Sipowicz. Son, wife, partner… all dead over the course of what, two seasons?
That being said, the last time I really bawled over a TV show was when Bobby Simone died. That episode was blatant emotional manipulation, but it worked.

Public TV 13 out of Marquette, MI (in the U.P) is actually a great station (I am a proud member!). They wrap up Saturday evening with Austin City Limits, so it's all good.
