Well, JMS's takes on the character have been memorable, just… not in a good way. At all.

What did everybody think of Action #18. I thought it was a bit convoluted, but overall good. Not Morrison's best ending in recent years, though.

Let's stick with one in a row, but OK.

Some final issue SPOILERS

@avclub-28b1819668d7c62501acb9852cad10a9:disqus Art is definitely a big part of the equation for me — it's one of the primary reason Morrison's current run on Action has been so frustrating to me. Snyder is a good writer, but he can get overly narration-based or too obsessed with minutia. Having a consistent art team

I actually think Lemire acquitted himself a lot better than Snyder did. It's just the combination of the two series that dragged Buddy down.

As if SNL's writers know or care how to end sketches!

Oh man, I usually like Britta but I HATED her in this. The very idea that she was at Jeff's dad's house was so contrived, and she was just irritating, not funny.

This was actually my least favorite of season 4 so far. Not very funny, Britta was annoying, and the Jeff ending was rather emotionally lewd.

In the end, Snyder's Swamp Thing run didn't end up being that good.

But this was terrible, though.

This episode definitely had some problems, but it was much, much better than anything else they've done this year, in my opinion.

"His character on the Office?" Idris Elba.

Not sure how I felt about JLA, but I do know this: It's better than any issue of the regular JL title I've read since the reboot.

Action is interesting, but I can't know if I like it or not until the final issue comes out. It's one of the most time-jumpey Morrison stories I've ever read.

Oh, also @avclub-3d90679db7c4964280d596fe6a031930:disqus, it reads a lot better all at once, so you're probably going with the better option by picking it up in trade.

Except not really. The appearance of the Bat-family at the end isn't really explained, and most annoyingly, readers of just Batman are not told what happens to Dick after the reservoir explodes. He just shows up later and is fine.

I ultimately liked it. I had some reservations when it was going on (I do think there are a couple of moments where the fact that it was a crossover bring it down as an individual title), but the ending is so good that it doesn't really matter.

I like Long Halloween, but I'm not a big fan of Dark Victory, and Superman for All Seasons seemed padded even at its relatively short length.

So, did we already talk about Death of the Family last week?
