"We Need to Talk about Kevin" is an awesome but scarring book.  I recommend it, but it's not for the faint of heart or those considering having their first child.  Scary as that composite of Kevin was, it was nowhere near scary enough.

I thought Platinum Hit was quite entertaining, though I got very tired of seeing Jessie (?) and her boyfriend in the competition cuddle and flirt and suck face continually.  Is that show coming back?  I'm guessing from your comment about how there are only six of us fans that the answer is NO.

RaeLynn's singing is just way too affected for me.  I was flabbergasted that Blake dismissed Adley over that performance, but I guess "uniqueness" means more than "on-key-ness."

I got told by a library patron that I remind her of Penelope.  I had to look up some clips on YouTube to see if that was an insult or compliment.  Conclusion: Unclear.  Plump and perky?  Lusting after hot black dudes?  Apparently color-blind?

Yeah, what happened to DCRJ?  That woman inspired more discussion of anal sex than I imagined possible.

Thanks for the heads-up about the unaired episodes on Hulu.  I was disappointed when the show was cancelled.  Not Better-Off-Ted-disappointed, but still disappointed.

I just finished Winchester's book about the San Francisco earthquake.  I now feel a lot more informed about geology and plate tectonics, as well as a lot more certain that my sister's home in California will end up in pieces at one point or another. 

I enjoyed the Fassbender/Wasikowska version of "Jane Eyre," but I actually preferred the BBC miniseries version from several years ago.  The cinematography was excellent, and because the miniseries had more time to devote to the story, Jane's time in the orphanage was explored thoroughly and wrenchingly.

When Reese Witherspoon just kept going ON and ON about how magical "Overboard" is and how it makes her feel all warm and tingly, I just kept staring at the screen like "What the fuck, Reese?  Are you living in 2012 with the rest of us, where essentially kidnapping, enslaving, and raping an amnesiac is not a good…
