Voyager really demonstrated that the general Los Angeles accent will last for at least four hundred years, and that everyone but Captain Janeway will have it. Even the Vulcans will have it!

A lot of TNG's flaws stem from its being first to a market for consumer-grade TV science fiction after the original Star Trek. Like every trailblazer the things it did first were ultimately strip mined and done technically better; e.g. bad as Voyager is in total, its space battles are worlds better than TNG's.
