I still wouldn't call Zappa a predecessor to most alternative. He's certainly helped expand the rock pallette, but his use of the expletive was always more for sophomoric laughs, regardless of underlying meaning. The Velvets have a connection to the grit, they don't seperate themselves from it for humor. Sure, Zappa's

I suppose the production on …And Justice For All isn't perfect, but the title track and One are really cool songs if my memories are worth anything, which they probably aren't because I haven't listened to those since freshman year.
Edit: Yes they are. Holy shit.

For a second there I thought I was gonna get Brycra's digits.

The Dead Kennedys were a very special band.
This song's stupid.

Was this the first 'direct' pop culture reference Adventure Time has ever done?

I was sort of expecting their to be a dickhole on that man's plushie, but I suppose part of the horror here is that this "relationship" is entirely non-sexual.
Honestly though where do you start with something like this.

You don't read headlines about planes making safe landings.

That show desperately needs to get covered more. I suppose it could easily be disregarded, but its had some absolutely brilliant transcendant moments.

They actually are doing that with the show now. They recently did an "Analyze Fish" episode, with two diff people, like Paul F. Tompkins and some other dude, and one tried to get the other to like the movie Jaws.

Not discussed: The fourth episode of Analyze Phish where Hot Saucerman goes to a concert and spends the whole time asking nice people for drugs.

You guys really oughta promote Nathan for You. Sure, it's nothing groundbreaking, but it's kinda struggling, and it's probably the kindest show on Comedy Central right now.

That's what you get out on the edge: Some Weird Skin

Who knew the guys from those Geico commercials played real music too?

Hi, doggie!

Actually it's well established that the next Machete is gonna be called Machete Kills Again

I'm liking it more with repeated listens. It'll be fun live.

I thought the goblin king and bill hader's one-off character on portlandia were Birdman. How many Birdmen are there?

Was I the only one expecting when the network exec came out for us to find out Archie B2 had been in on it the whole time, and that the chase had just been engineered in order to get Archie B2 back in the public eye?

IGGY AND THE STOOGES BBLBBLDFSLADOSFDOAFKAOE

I don't know. Earth, Wind and Tires sounds to be like a romanticized depiction of driving your convertible with the top down. I'd shop there.
