The Chuck E. Cheese scene is probably the most Arrested Development this series has ever been. Dave and the Chipmunks arrive there to eat dinner, get into no shenanigans and enjoy their meal. Alvin even makes Dave laugh because he won a plush toy of himself! Scene ends.

Very cool how the pitch shifts bring out implied words in without using actual vocals. Personally if you're talking about midi conversions however, the hotel Mario intro easily trumps this.

Mario Galaxy's news report horns still blow me away but that was eight years ago. Same to the TF2 themes, which had that 60s spy thing going on.

As soneone who grew up with later gen consoles, I would definitely say I prefer the music of older Japanese games, where limited sound pallettes necessitated fun, energetic, punchy songs over cinematic flourishes or excessive overproduction. It's not that great songs can't come out of new games, but they're bigger…

It's def a show that requires a certain mindset. IFC has used that to brand it as a stoner show, but for me its a show have to see with other fans or alone. It's very easy to not get and contagious.

That movie has some of the cutest leads I've ever seen. The little suits they wear. Oh my god.
