I find myself a little shocked at how much I enjoy Carson on this show. I thought he was awful the first season, but his enthusiasm and goofy awkwardness is kind of endearing. Somehow, he works perfectly for what this show is doing.

Yeah, I thought that myself. The "Morpheus" gag had me absolutely dying. I thought the whole ep was fantastic.
That's true now, but it certainly wasn't true in '83. State as a program was just as successful as UNC and probably more successful than Duke heading into the '80s. State-UNC was THE rivalry, it had a whole lot more history to it than UNC-Duke. Then Valvano got run out of town, State proceeded to be worthless for two…
Not sure why it matters if it was planned or not (which it clearly wasn't). Pretty much all of the dramatic shots we remember are ridiculously low-percentage plays that just happen to go in. Buzzer beaters, at least the ones we remember, are almost all lucky plays.
I haven't seen the doc yet, but a few of those complaints struck me as odd too.
"I'll never understand how two men like you could have been spawned by that sweet, courageous old astronaut."
I was just thinking about posting Bone. It's great, and for what it is it's about as perfect as you get.
Quick follow up question: What is it like having no soul?
I adore that New X-Men run, but "perfect" would probably be the last thing I'd call it. It does some absolutely fantastic things, and the big reveal at the end is really one of the great comics moments, but it has plenty of flaws. Really, it's too ambitious to be perfect. I'm glad it is, because most of what we got is…
Was just coming here to post this. It's an absolutely perfect film. There is nothing, not the slightest detail, that you could change to improve it. I, like all good-thinking people, have seen it enough times to quote it from start to finish, yet I still don't get tired of it.
I'm not saying it can't be improved upon. My argument is that you're taking issue with the basic format of the show. It's not an interview, it's not a probing discussion. It's a bunch of entertaining people hanging out and letting the tape roll. Sometimes that results in brilliance, sometimes not. Maybe you don't like…
But they did put it on the internet, and plenty of people do love it. It's freewheeling with a lot of riffs, digressions and tangents. Sometimes those can be a little annoying. Most of the time I find them some of the most enjoyable parts.
Nerdist is hit and miss, but when it's on I really, really love it. As such, I have a lot of favorites:
Gee, the response in these comments wasn't predictable at all…
Love "Ham Radio", love "Ski Lodge", but "The Two Mrs. Cranes" takes the cake for me. So totally amazing.
So, Maris Crane. Great unseen TV character, or Greatest unseen TV character?
I thoroughly endorse this suggestion. Plus, it would give us all the opportunity to argue over which episodes they chose to do, and we all know how we love that.
To everyone just checking out The Flop House now, the essential back-eps to make sure you check out are "Journey 2", "Limitless", "Knight and Day", "Jonah Hex", "Old Dogs", "Mirrors", and I cannot stress this enough: "Bratz"
Cake Boss is, and will always be, my favorite, but ALW is a very close second. He's grown on me over time, and this CBB ep was him at his absolute best.
