Something Clever

I've been scrolling down waiting to see if someone mentioned this game. I poured SO many hours into Racer. That was a tremendously fun game, and had one heck of a learning curve.

The only thing that makes me kind of want to see this movie is that the trailers make it look like Patrick Warburton is essentially playing Kronk again.

Really? I hadn't heard that. That's fantastic. I'd love to see this get a second season.

I'd love to have the opportunity to see P&T's Vegas show some day. They can be annoying personalities sometimes, but they're fantastic magicians. In that vein, I'd advise checking out their recent show "Fool Us", which aired over in Britain. You see a ton of fantastic magic, and it's fun to see guys try to fool P&T,

The bear discussion from a couple weeks ago is as hard as I've laughed at anything in a while. They've really been on point recently.

So, D_Boons_Ghost is definitely this guy, right?

I heard the seventh one was slated to be Cars with cars.

I thought the episode was great, so did Donna, it's A-minus.
Those who complain make me so mad, *Cracks Glass* Thank you, Linus.

Werner Herzog is back this week! There is perhaps nothing that makes me happier than seeing that he is in an episode of DLM. He's the perfect presence for that show. This week, we also got a LOT of Tompkins audibly guffawing out of character in the background (culminating in his confused "WHAT?" at the TV movie

I'm well aware of that, that's why I said it can be done via magical means. I also know that it can be done for real. With an understanding of magical methods and watching how Blaine does it, I'd conclude that he actually did it. I'm certain, but that would be my guess.

The ice pick through the hand is definitely real. It's a really old "trick", that isn't really a trick. With practice, you can do it pretty safely without the risk of hitting bone/nerve, and the pain is minimal. It's creepy as all get out, but not actually all that dangerous.

That I remember: Gattaca, 12 Angry Men, A Civil Action (Env Sci class), The Three Faces of Eve (psych), Wag the Dog, Stand and Deliver. I'm sure there were more though.

Yeah, I think the commentary says that they shot something like 88 minutes of film and ended up using 77, which is ridiculous.

I really enjoyed it, though mostly because I find Harrison Ford being everyone's crotchety grandfather endlessly delightful.

It's definitely an all-timer. It may be their best ever. In addition to what you mentioned, there's also a fantastic mailbag (particularly the floppers playing each other in a reenactment), the return of Dan's Woody Allen voice, and "The Penultimate Unicorn". I don't think I've ever laughed so much at a podcast.

I get that, but there are a LOT of episodes left. If we hit episode 14 and still haven't seen much more of the mother, then we have a problem, but it's a long season. It's a network sitcom, there's going to be "filler" that doesn't move the plot forward, that's what happens with a 22 episode season. I'll complain

I don't understand the "it's just filler" complaint. I don't care if it moves the plot forward nearly as much as I care about it being a humorous, entertaining show, and this episode totally delivered on that. The flashbacks, the various schemes to get in Lily's room, the ghost reenactment, Courtney Dove and Kurt

Strangely enough, the results were reversed when the experiment was done with horses as the subjects.

This week in "You Don't Really Get MBMBAM, Do You?" the reviewer seems to have just realized that the primary purpose of the podcast is not, in fact, to give advice.
