Pulling. It. Off.
Pulling. It. Off.
Agreed. I thought it was the best song of the night.
I love that the husband's argument was "It's going to be 2 years before we get this baby. I'll be 65 by the time she graduates high school!" If only they could adopt that child immediately, he'd be a young, vibrant 63 instead.
I'm so totally in the bag for Joss Whedon. Kaylee, Fred and especially Willow would be 3 of my top picks, and you could probably throw in Cordelia (circa Angel) too for good measure.
Frankly, I'm astonished it took this long to get to Pam. She's incredibly crush-worthy.
So…Victor with a Britta imprint then?
"Every time I have to admit that Adam Levine is kind of funny, I lose 15 seconds from my life."
Reading that he had music featured on FNL sent me scrambling for Tony Lucca's wikipedia page, which includes this excellent piece of information:
Agreed. The relentless positivity is kind of a refreshing difference from a lot of stuff in the comedy-verse. He's like the anti-Maron.
Just as a generic hint when checking out new comedy podcasts, a rule I've found it's useful to live by.
I've really soured on HDTGM, but the recent episodes they've done where they talk to somebody involved with the film have been excellent. The Punisher:War Zone one with the Director and Patton Oswalt was excellent, as was the recent Crank/Crank 2 episode with Brian Taylor. Other than that, they're pretty underwhelming.
Yeah, gotta disagree. The "You, Me & Dupree"/"Marmaduke" riff was awesome. Some of my favorite moments from this show are when one of them will reference something that they clearly don't know much about, and then gets called out on it.
I rarely swear, but this deserves it.
You've got to pay to get access to the older episodes, but I've been listening to a bunch of those recently, and there's a bunch of great ones.
I'm glad MBMBAM is finally getting a mention. In my opinion, it's the funniest podcast going, and it's not really close. I'm surprised that the review doesn't even mention the Yahoo Answers questions, because that's easily the best part. Their continued incredulity at the depths of stupidity people are capable of…
While these are, obviously, all great episodes, if I have to pick one BoT ep, I'm going "Lust in Translation". The central gag of the translator with Phil's voice is one of the greatest things ever to appear on television.
No show has ever made the jump from "I genuinely enjoy this show, even if it has faults" to "I ironically enjoy this show because it is a complete and utter train wreck" as quickly as Glee. If this is a B-…yikes.
I didn't care about Fallon at all until the Neil Young/Springsteen "Whip My Hair" bit. That's easily one of the best late night bits of the last few years. If nothing else, that endeared him to me.
Whoops, double post.
Paul F. Tompkins doing Werner Herzog doing John Lennon = Solid Gold.
