I generally hated the hoedowns, but they did create this one moment of sheer genius: http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Elton John really has produced some great Idol moments
I don't get Naima, I really don't. I haven't enjoyed one of her performances. The dancing mostly looks ridiculous. She's so worried now about being kooky and injecting some sort of African/Jamaican/Reggae vibe into everything that she never just sings the song.…
Impressive
I thought they did a really impressive job handling this episode, and I agree with almost everything said in the review. It would be so easy to screw this up. We all know it's coming. We know Michael and Holly are going to get together. We know Carell is leaving. It could easily have been forced, contrived…
More Like Less-town, right guys…
Actually, I rather enjoyed tonight, I just wanted to make an awful pun.
See, and I thought this was the worst night of the series
Everything ranged from mediocre to awful. I still don't see any surefire superstars in this mix.
I can't get into James, just not my cup of tea. The screams are just really off-putting to me, and he feels like a less talented version of Adam Lambert (who I also didn't like)
Definitely a step back for most of them
I laughed out loud at "on a scale of the Judas to Jesus " and "showing both facial expressions". Well played.
I'm Gilding the Lily of my Passion
I actually think America basically nailed the top 10 I would have picked. I'm not a huge Paul fan, but I can see why some people are. He's definitely talented. I don't even mind Scotty, who seems to draw a lot of online ire. Country isn't my thing, and he definitely hasn't shown us…
I know the judges have always been terrible, but…
Goodness they were awful tonight. Steven and Jennifer, who I had really grown to like during the audition process, just don't ever want to say anything bad about anyone, and Randy swings from mindlessly critical (he's filling the Simon role, but with none of the…
Boarding the Lusk Train
I haven't been a fan of Jacob Lusk at all in the early going. I mean, he's clearly talented, but all his performances seemed too showy, and nothing really worked for me. This one though…wow. Really, really great vocal. He might not be my cup of tea all the time, but he's a heck of a singer.
Dorian wins the internet. Simply fantastic
Really Enjoyable
I really enjoyed this episode. It wasn't groundbreaking, and it didn't have the emotional resonance that the best episodes of this season (Christmas, PDA) have had, but as a joke delivery system, it was maybe the best episode of the season.
Better Than I Thought It Would Be
When I started watching and saw what was coming, I was not too thrilled. Dedicating a whole episode to Michael's dumb movie seemed like it could go downhill real quickly, but it actually worked for me in a lot of ways. It managed to be kind of a nostalgic look back without being a…
CHORD OVERSTREET!
A real Tour de Force for Mr. Overstreet tonight. Maybe I'm actually influenced by the fact that his name is actually CHORD OVERSTREET!, and it makes everything about that character just a little bit funnier, but I actually liked this episode a bit more than Todd. Sure there were parts that didn't…
The Best Episode in…I don't know, two seasons?
What a great, great episode. Everything worked for me in this one.
I did not like his audition, but I am definitely rooting for him now.
Just when I think I'm out…
I was so close to just giving up this show and moving on. It's been so incredibly crappy for almost the entirety of season 2, and even the musical performances of late (outside of the Warblers and "Valerie") haven't been working for me.
