Yeah, while we're on the subject of video game concerts, I'd totally go to a performance by The Runaway Five. Or Parappa the Rapper.

The Fuckin' Catalina Wine Mixer!

True, but it usually did so in ways that subverted audience expectations and denied easy resolutions. This was the opposite.

Agreed on that moment being the biggest surprise of the finale, and it was also easily my favorite moment (well, with Jesse zooming off into the night howling with joy a close second).

And I'd been wondering what the deal was with that remote-controlled car in the earlier episodes this season…

Yeah, I was initially a little underwhelmed because of how straightforward and predictable it was, but the more I read people's observations here and think about the episode in hindsight the more I appreciate the choices Gilligan and co. made.

Aw man, I hate to be that guy, but that moment really rang false to me and seemed liked needless pandering. It's a little too convenient for Todd to survive the shootout just so Jesse can be the one to kill him, it makes the plot a little too neatly constructed and took me out of it for a second when I was totally

Yeah, at this point the writing is solid enough but nothing special, but the actors are all so immensely likable that they make it work. I'm more than willing to stick it out for a while and see how the show grows.

Hey, let's leave the eyebrows out of this alright?

No need to get so whinny about it.

Exception: Jesse Pinkman.

Eh, Simon Tam is pretty dull.

Yeah, but he pretty quickly became interesting again at the end of this past season.

I actually found Aang to be one of the most interesting characters. Zuko's story has all the flashy, dramatic twists and turns, but Aang's arc is much more low-key, internal and contemplative. I really haven't seen much else on TV quite like it. Plus his nearly irrepressible optimism and cheery attitude are just so

He's also (aside from a little ADD here and romantic awkwardness there) remarkably mature for his age from the get-go, while Korra acts a lot more like you would expect a real 17-year-old to act.

Yeah, I find Robert Kirkman's popularity kind of baffling. Invincible is pretty shitty, too (though its world-building is impressively ambitious, I guess).

Except for that one guy whose placard said "VILLAIN…WITH MOMMY ISSUES."

It's hardly the first time something like this has come up, given Sokka and the original Bumi's fondness for puns (or Aang and Sokka giggling at "buttresses").

The A.V. Club

Damn.
