I do find it a little strange when people get upset about spoilers from shows or movies that took place at least ten years ago, if not more…for those people, they need to tell us when exactly is a good length of time to keep something spoiler-free.

Also in an episode of that show from season 8 as well. I liked both episodes-great way to call attention to such a tragic and important issue.

Yeah-my knowledge of his work is limited, but what I have seen with him I enjoyed. And his activist work noted at the end of the article makes me admire him all the more.

It's really interesting to think of how this show bounces back and forth when it comes to the concept of obeying authority. We have episodes like "The Obsolete Man", that challenge blind adherence to everything, and then episodes like this one, where listening to and following the one in charge would've actually been

Exactly. If I were stuck in some post-apocalyptic world, and someone came along and promised that there were better options out there, a chance to return to some form of normalcy…I can't deny that at the very least, I'd be tempted to check it out. Desperate times make people do really desperate things.

Yeah, usually the nasty people get their just desserts in these episodes, but in this one the nasty guy gets rewarded for his behavior in a way. Definitely a departure for the series in some respects.

Cool. Glad to hear it. Now you have me intrigued about the movie as well-guy seems to be building a rather nice little resume for himself.

There we go! Thank you. *Goes off to look*

Yeah, I thought that was in a recent discussion somewhere, a specific page or something…maybe I was thinking of a different author. But I'll do some Google searching, too. That collection sounds great-quite a few notable names in there. Thanks for the recommendation!

I look forward to reading them. Particularly the FOC and Radcliffe articles (mainly 'cause Radcliffe always seems like such a sweetie in the interviews I've seen with him, so it'll be fun to see what your interview with him is like).

Yes :). And wonderful, that sounds very promising, then. I seem to remember someone saying you could find his stuff online recently, and they shared a link?

I like that you decided to do it that way. I like "Night Call", so I'm glad that one's coming up next.

Exactly! The twists are fun, especially for those going in blind. But I'm with you, the messages involved are what linger with me most often. And to the show's credit, they were good at balancing both-the twists weren't just for shock value, there was an actual point to them, and the messages were powerful enough that

That makes sense. And of course, if that doesn't occur to one right away, once that reveal happens they're like, "How did I not think of that?"

That, too, definitely. Whatever her reasons for acting as she did, Todd's right, this would've been one miserable household in which to hang around.

I need to read those two stories. Sound intriguing.

See, I didn't really have that problem. I'd seen this episode after seeing a few others, so obviously I knew there was some sort of twist coming, but I wouldn't have predicted a computer being the "Old Man", or it playing out exactly as it did. If I recall rightly, I think I was thinking it'd be more something along

Excellent question. Yeah, this isn't like last week's "Living Doll" where you could see some legit reasons why the mom didn't just up and leave (even though at one point she tried to)-there was some legit fear there that kept her stuck in that house.

It's been fun reading your work, Todd. Best of luck with your future endeavors-you will be greatly missed here.

You had to bring up "Parents Day", didn't you? *Wipes eyes*
