The American right would like you to believe that Hollywood is some godless den of radical leftism, but the fact is that their attitude towards feminism, as well as other political issues, is subject to the same trajectory that the rest of American society has gone through.

Yeah, very few shows ever touch on that last issue, and if they do they tend to chicken out at the last moment. It would be nice to have shows that deal with pregnancy considering EVERY option, and actually having some variety in the choices they make.

My mom loved that show, and she wasn't big on the seasons after they had the kid. I don't know if her reasons were the sort you laid out here (she generally tends to get that sort of attitude about the latter seasons of any show), but still, it wouldn't surprise me if that was part of what bugged her.

She gets all the respect and admiration in the world for that. For all sorts of reasons.

Ah, yes, the dreaded spin-offs. "NCIS" and "CSI" were somehow lucky enough to make theirs work. Most shows do not have that kind of luck, so they really should just quit while they're ahead.
