That line deeply unsettles me, too. It's very powerful and a great line, but it's incredibly heartbreaking, too. That whole outrage was batshit insane and ridiculous. I'd like to think the idiots involved in sending threats and boycotting and all that BS look back on their actions with deep embarrassment and shame…but

Agreed. I appreciate that country music is willing to delve into more sentimental topics like family, small town life, religion, etc….but I also have definitely noticed that a lot of the country music that's out now does seem to have a checklist as to what needs to show up in a song at some point.

Amen to this comment.

I'd recommend it, yeah (and "Silent House" is a good song. It deals with some rather tough subject matter-if I recall, it's about seeing someone suffering from Alzheimer's or something similar-but it's still worth a listen). And there's some beautiful music in the other songs and some interesting stories told in the

And the tour guide with the face on a stick-there's a happy side and a frowny side.

You would've gotten on very well with my dad.

And Filbert just looks at him and goes, "Yeah?"

…okay, I JUST now caught that (been a long, long time since I saw that episode).

Same here. My dad and I bonded over some weird, weird stuff. I definitely inherited his appreciation for warped humor.

Oh, geez, I forgot about that. Well, there goes my appetite for the evening…

There we go! Thank you for getting the exact quote.

Sooooo…did the censors not consider the fact that many children are taken to church each week and hear the word "hell" there? Or mention of the devil? Did they think that kids would be too stupid to figure out what's being referenced or something?

Your ability to remember songs from Nicktoons cartoons is awe-inspiring :). Respect.

Wow, really?

Haha, good question.

Hm. Well, in that case, I don't know, then, haha! But yeah, so long as it does provide some enjoyment, it's worth it.

I totally understand that. It's a very, very weird, slightly disturbing show. I think there's a certain kind of gross-out humor one has to have/appreciate in order to truly enjoy that show.

My parents let me watch both, and my dad in particular liked both shows. But my mom did raise an eyebrow or two every so often when she'd catch some of "Ren & Stimpy" with us. She liked "Rocko", but couldn't quite warm to "Ren & Stimpy".

The strike line and "little poots". Two things my sister and I used to quote at each other constantly as kids.
