I really liked their Beyond The Permafrost album, but I feel like the last two just blur by and are more worried about shredding and kicking ass than being memorable.  I think High On Fire has the same problem sometimes.  I'm not dissing these bands though.  I think it's great beer hoisting music and I root for them,

I like Royal Thunder and I like Graveyard. You guys should check out a band called Corsair. My favorite album of the last month.

I don't ask this to stir some Internet shitstorm, but what's the deal on the nazi or national front or whatever connections with the old stuff? Id likento check more of these guys out but not if they have that shit in their background

I loved the Kvelertak single, but Metal Sucks gave it a bad review. I hold out hope though.

Can we talk about what we're listening to lately? Not because I'm some narcissist dick, but just because I love nerding out to this shit.

I thought the song "Call of Valhalla" from their last album was outrageously hooky. I like the new album too, though I get how it could sound cheesy. I think these guys are pretty sincere though. I dig em.

I loved the Prehistoricisms album so much, but was disappointed by Valley Of Smoke. Not because it was much softer (I usually don't mind that at all), but it just seemed to meander with nothing to hook me in. Am I crazy? I'll still check out the new one though.

I love that Ghost album.  You like In Solitude?  They're kinda sorta in the vein but more on the Mercyful Fate/Exciter/early 80s tip.

And to prove that I picked up Strapping Young Lad's City album after Smacky linked to some Devin Townsend last month.  Thanks, because I'm digging it a lot.

2 days late so no one will read this, but here goes:

I loved the album as well, but I think it got some good press and then mainstream magazines adopted it as their token metal album. The narrative took over. That said, I do like the album a lot.

Yeah I got that in Jan. 2012 after seeing it #1 on NPRs best of 2011 metal list and after former Loud commenter Fast Zombie tipped me off. That album is so amazing. I hope they blow up.

I've been meaning to get into SYL and DTP for awhile. I guess I'll start with this one.

Where can I actually purchase this album?
