As a loyal Loud reader, I know what UMD listens to regularly. And it isn't stuff that rips off Tom Petty!

Who are the other big time Canadian classic rock bands? Triumph? Guster? No, we've never heard of Trooper here.
This post is outrageous. Sir, if your country hadn't given us Neil Young I'd be writing my senator right now to get Canada kicked out of North America.
I'm no expert, but their song "All Die Young" is a great one.
Jason - awesome piece. Thanks for that.
Yup early 90s auto parts warehouse guy right here - classic rock non stop for the whole summer. Me and a friend brought our own boombox and played NWA tapes. Didn't go over too well.
I hate almost everything they ever did, but to me "Santa Monica", "Heartspark Dollarsign" and "You Make Me Feel Like A Whore" are 90s alt rock classics. It's brainless AOR 70s rock for the 90s.
I like Radiohead like everyone else, but can we all admit that "Creep" is ridiculous? The lyrics are corny 14 year diary type stuff and the song just follows the standard quiet verse/loud chorus 90 alt thing. I say without the guitar CHK-KA CHK-KA part, they may have never made it.
To show you I'm not trolling I…
I had the first Vektor album and I just couldn't get past the Destruction-like vocals. You guys have been raving about them so I checked out the new album. Yeah, sounds great. The production and musicianship is much improved. They're carving out their own sound, which is all I ask of any band. I can see these…
I know I'm super late but here's some 2011 metal albums I dug:
You should also check out Portrait and Darkest Era. I assume you have the Ghost album already? If you like traditional metal I dare say it is a modern classic.
Almost 2012 and I STILL have no idea what dubstep is.
Kenny Herzog - I'm calling you out my man. AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Death Certificate, and The Predator are all classics, but Lethal Injection? No way. That was the moment Cube set his career on cruise control. Ghetto Bird and You Know How We Do It are great, but that's about it. Bop Gun is a novelty song. Cave…
Apologies to the Queen Mary was a pretty great album. But the cover art to the second album was so atrocious that I refused to even listen to it. They aquitted themselves with the Expo 86 cover, but by that point, it was too late. They were already dead to me. I assume this is why they broke up.
Right on. Nothing wrong with playing "Illegal Alien" at all!
? And The Mysterians have been blacklisted for far too long.
Love old school punk (Clash, Pistols, Ramones), love SoCal hardcore (Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Descendents), love Rancid, love the Refused. Honestly, please check out Blink 182's live album, The Enema Strikes Back. I swear, it's excellent. Travis Barker is an animal.
The better question is Why go home?
Hey man, leave me out of it. I specifically said mine was not a Dawes reference.
(Steven - I'm sure the Dawes stuff is beyond old to you guys, but I'm not looking to break your chops. I'm obviously a huge fan of this site and all the writers. Hope the good nature of all this stuff comes through to you.)
Zombie, for some reason I couldn't post on Loud today.
