You know, I might actually watch American Retirement, so long as the characters had the personality of Abraham Simpson and the other residents of the Springfield Retirement Castle.

Based on the response I got on Twitter the night I saw Kiki's I'm the only person who doesn't love it. It's not bad, but I felt it was the weakest of Miyazaki's films. On the other had, I have only seen it in English, and I wasn't a huge fan of the dub, so I might like it better in Japanese.
I recently watched all of Miyazaki's movies, plus a few other Ghibli films (I saw Howl's Moving Castle when it was in theaters, but my tastes hadn't developed to a point where I could appreciate it), and this movie is responsible. I had heard for years that his films were incredible, but I had a bit of an anime bias…
I don't really understand hardline always sub or always dub people. I have been trying to make an effort to see as many of these movies in both English and Japanese. The Japanese is always great, but the English can be great as well. Some of them are not (I will never watch Castle in the Sky in English again), but…

I understand the Big Bad's motivation, but the writers forgot to add some things to episodes which Veronica somehow knew in the finale (either that, or they were so well-hidden that I have missed them even on rewatch). Also, I remain somewhat upset about the dropped…
This is not at all a complaint, but did anyone else feel like Lana's constant attempts to remind Archer of the Cuban hit squad sounded like a riff on poor story structure in low-quality sitcoms? "Surf-world Deadwood"? Great, now all I can picture is Al Swearengen in a wet suit yelling "Hang ten, cocksucker!"
And in 2006, she was a high schooler on Veronica Mars.

Well I have seen it, and I can say that it is awful. It's ok for a movie to wear its heart on its sleeve, but it has to earn it, and no emotion in this movie was earned. From what I could tell, Joey was some kind of magical horse that caused all who saw him to fall in love with him. There is no other explanation…
Vin Diesel is a 600-year-old Car Lord from the planet Horsepoweria. When he is dying, he can go to a mechanic and get repaired, but he ends up looking like the next generation's muscly, mumbly action star.
