Life in Neptune
These are two of my favorite episodes of the first season (and most likely series). Not only is AEFC exciting, they both effectively communicate a core element of the series: life is unfair, you don't always win, and solving the mystery doesn't always equal a victory.

Future Crime
When they arrested the lothario for future murder, I thought the show was going to riff on future crime by having the police cause the crimes they were stopping. The guy didn't do anything criminal onscreen until the police showed up, at which point the writers could easily have said that he was

Seconded, La Pipe.

Idiotking:
So there is some truth to Archer's (the show, not the character) that nobody is that gay?

I interpreted it as "If AD were introduced now, instead of in 2003." Then again, I guess that would create a paradox because Noel specifically referred to now being the age of post-AD comedies.

The Storm
This was the episode that made me realize that Avatar was a series to commit to. Before The Storm, there were good and great episodes (and a bad one or two), but there was always some flaw that, in my mind, kept it in the "just a kids show" pile.

I agree with sarCCastro that the Beast fight in AN is fantastic.

Sokka
I liked that Sokka is finally starting to show that he is smart, discerning, and competent, and that Aang and Katara don't immediately pick up on it. I hated him so much in the early episodes, as he was annoying and worthless. Here, I'm fairly certain the writers intended us to be somewhat on Aang and Katara's

Like I said, she is the way she is because of the world she lives in. But even still, she does some things that are pretty bad. I fully recognize that she does (most of) these things in pursuit of lofty morals, but that doesn't justify everything I was referring to.

SPOILERS
For much of the series, Veronica is a bad person, but she is just so charismatic and funny, and many of her bad qualities are due to the horrible acts of others, she is likeable. She invades people's privacy, people she claims to love and trust. But she has trust issues for a reason. She is self-righteous,

Every time I remember he is dead, I get sad all over again.

Aaron Echolls
Some Spoilers!
He is one of my favorite recurring characters on the show. He is such a terrible person; even though this show only scratches the surface, it is clear that his vile nature goes beyond beating his son. The fact that Lynn just sits there drinking while Aaron whips Logan is very telling.

I always say it as more in his mind, that he was depressed. That's why there was no one in the seats.

Also, no love for Fred's use of the cross like an airport metal detector wand?

All that was missing was an underling saying "Boss, you know to never say 'she'll never get in.' That means that she WILL get in."

Et tu, Hipsterdbag?

I would defend myself with a statement about the fact that it was in a Spider-Man movie, but your comment is too good. I applaud you, sir.

As Long As They're Using Song Titles
Will their next label be called "Ordinary"?

If it was this show, the episode was more likely called "Weird Zombie AIDS"
