I had to grapple with that when reviewing this, actually. I seek out writing panels like New Yorkers look for cronuts (it's funny 'cause it's topical!), so at first I wasn't sure if I was just too informed to be impressed. But these episodes really are rather slight. Amusing, but if you want actual insider info, you'd

Never fear! It's going up around 3 pm Central. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm just going to go kick my laptop out a window…

Nope. Just Poehler, Schur, Joe Mande and Dan Goor.

Don't bother - this picture's from the Sundance set.

I tried sticking it up my arse, but that didn't work either. :(

Programming Note: thanks to a rather stunning continuation of technological issues, this week's coverage of "The IT Crowd" has been pushed to tomorrow. We're not saying "The IT Crowd" has cursed us to a lifetime of tech weirdness, but….yes, that's what we're saying.

WHAT HAVE I DONE.

For a second I thought you were talking about Maslany playing me and WHERE DO I SIGN?

Curses!! I think I just wanted to use the phrase "intergalactic prison" so badly I was blinded to the truth. "Earth Prison" isn't a good prom theme at ALL.

Yes, exactly. Well said.

Oh, TOTALLY. Class could've been an entirely different FOC, but I wanted to acknowledge that race absolutely matters when discussing agency, power, navigating society, etc. Also, if I had expanded this beyond sci-fi/had seen it before writing this piece, "Orange is the New Black" would be another prime example of

I don't look at these reviews as directly juxtaposing two episodes against each other. In fact, the only comparison I make between the two this week is the transitional first sentence of the second review (and granted, it's a pretty weak comparison). Otherwise, these reviews stand alone. It's a less sexy answer than

How do you know I wasn't asking an existential question about the very existence of Richmond, hmmm?
(You're right, I wasn't. But I COULD have been!)

You and me both. Cheers!

I personally assign grades and judge quality by intent, which usually means grading the piece against itself rather than Film/TV/Media at large. When I reviewed "Orphan Black," I at first graded it against similar sci-fi works, and then started to grade it according to what I knew the show could do (ergo, a rather

You're right! Corrected.

Drap cammit!
(Corrected.)

You should see my notes for these reviews (hint: seven pages).

You are absolutely correct. Will correct ASAP!

Honestly, I was totally with you when I first watched the show. He's SO over the top, even in a show that loves all things over the top. But going back, I liked him more in "Golden Child" than I did the first time I watched it.I was all ready to dislike him again when he ran in and actually pushed the coffin over
