Exactly. Beyond all the obvious weirdness, the strangest part of this show to me was that the show NEVER acknowledged how famous the cast got. When Vinny left, he was clearly struggling with the price of notoriety, but the show treated his depression like it came out of nowhere. I get that they didn't want to mess

Familiar is one thing (and a thing I like very much), but this episode continued the pattern of sacrificing Andy's personality to create a Jim/Pam/Roy replica. I don't mind callbacks, but I do mind forced repeats.

I DON'T KNOW WHY I JUST HAVEN'T

For a second this made me feel overwhelmed, but then I was so underwhelmed, and I now I think I'm just….whelmed.

If I had time to write about how well "Hey Arnold" deals with the adult characters, I would have absolutely gone into the Simmons family Thanksgiving, which is just heartbreaking. I loved this cartoon as a kid, but Simmons is one of those characters you appreciate more with age.

Yup, fixed. I even noted this in last week's review, and STILL forgot about Collin…which does not make me optimistic for the poor kid's chances.

I also have a soft spot for "Jessie's Girl" because I - wait for it - sang it in my college a cappella group. It's SO much fun, but that song's extremely hard to sing in anything other than a strained chest voice. It didn't do J.R. or Diego any favors, but I think J.R. would have gone much further.

You are both generous and correct, sir. Fixed.

Honestly, that's why I didn't mention a single singer's backstory in this review. I couldn't do it. I'm at the sob story saturation point. I understand the instinct to give each singer a compelling story, but it kind of goes against the entire point of the show - that it's just about the VOICE. If the judges don't get

To be fair, Blake's been pushing his button for a lot of different genres, but the singers most likely to pick him are the country ones. Dude needs to step up his pitching game (which currently peaks at, "You wear vests? So do I!").

I saw the ratings and actually cackled. Thrilled to be wrong!
