I saw the ratings and actually cackled. Thrilled to be wrong!

This makes more sense. As he pushed the "music man" thing so hard I could practically feel it popping out of the screen 3D style, however, I think calling him "Musicman" is fair.

You are, of course, completely correct (I would love to blame Domo for short circuiting my brain, but that would be unprofessional). Thank you for spotting it so quickly!

I was shocked they didn't like Mackenzie more. This episode was clearly shot on the same day as the premiere, but I wonder what everyone's order was, chronologically.  I have a feeling the judges get pickier as the night goes on, which means they'd be less likely to turn around even for a stronger singer later on.

You are correct! Thanks for pointing it out, correcting now.

Oh, I wouldn't necessarily advocate for a total season catchup. If you get the chance, I'd say go with premieres, the Halloween specials and the last three or four episodes of the season. This is where the magic happens.

At least you're in exactly the right corner of the internet for such things!

Arlene: "Every man I've ever dated has had a big ball of pain inside them -"
Holly: "Well, that's every man."
What Arlene Should Have Said: "Sure. Only in my experience, it's more like Serial Killer Inflicting Pain on Everyone and Everything type pain, but potato potatoe, newbie."

There's no doubt that Carrie Preston and Todd Lowe CRUSHED that scene…but unfortunately, one good scene does not a good storyline make. If Terry's subplot were more engaging and layered beforehand, their goodbye scene would have been absolutely gutwrenching.

If Eric cradling Alcide's face didn't immediately inspire THOUSANDS of filthy fanfiction drabbles, I would no longer understand the internet.

Wood's sheepish grin at guessing Kibworth's origin story was so charming, I was disappointed when they then cut to an actual historical text.
