Agreed on the Nigel perving. Last season was the first time we watched (season 4? The Joshua / Katee season) and I noticed it some but it seemed really over the top this season. Maybe it was last season too and I just wasn't paying as much attention. I would like to go on thinking of Nigel as the "nicer Simon Cowell"…

Absolutely thrilled with Jeanine's win. That said I also would have been happy for Brandon and even for Kayla; her technique really is great and her personality seemed to bloom in the last couple of weeks. But enough of that — hurray Jeanine!

The Canned Heat performance is one of my favorites. I love when the dude jumps onto the stage and is allowed to stay, AND bums a smoke from the singer to boot.

I'm a big fan of the 80s-90s Flaming Lips stuff and also loved Soft Bulletin — and I definitely enjoy "At War" much more than Yoshimi, especially the return of the guitars. One qualm I have with the casting is that Zachary "Sylar" Quinto is one ultra-hammy actor (at least he was on "Heroes"). But maybe playing Spock will help him tone down some of the cheese.
