Back in the day when Paramount was slow-rolling out the titles for the upcoming episodes of season six of DS9, I saw the title "Sons and Daughters" and got very excited. I thought not just of Ziyal, but I assumed it would tackle storylines for Nog and Jake too. Initially I felt we would get a perspective of the war

Michael Taylor wasn't responsible for the great scripts of either episode though. Ron Moore and Echevarria were (Moore for ITPM and Echevarria for The Visitor). Both did extensive rewrites of Taylor's draft but because there was an unwritten policy to not give writing or re-write credit to guys (producers) whose names

Here's another thing I don't get. This guy set up and participated in cold-blooded murder of men (the military guys) who did no one any harm and I can bet that those weren't the only innocent people he killed. But hey, that's okay, right? Just as long a she doesn't CROSS THE LINE by raping a woman. That would have

Agreed. Essentially what he or she is saying, intentionally or not, is that the TV Gov's phony threat of raping Maggie makes him worse than the comic book version Gov who actually did rape Michonne.

I forgot to mention that "Improbable Cause" (and its "Die Is Cast" followup) are to DS9 what "Coming of Shadows" is to Babylon 5. Anyone who watched both shows understands what I'm saying. I hope.

Ahhh.  We are now at one of the turning points of the show. Starting with these two episodes, particularly "Improbable Cause", DS9 begins a streak of producing mostly high quality storytelling that stretches all the way through season six. "Improbable Cause" and its conclusion "The Die Is Cast" ranks as the best

One of the few times I did not need that "Treme Explained" blog. As soon as the couple mentioned their film I knew exactly who they were. I can recall seeing the trailer for that documentary twice when going to my local arthouse film joint. Never seen the actual film myself though. Gotta check it out.

That is kinda like me asking you if you would be more upset if the person whose rep she is helping remain in ruin was not black. I mean two can play that game if you want to go there.

I don't know. I kinda sided with her because the HR person was making it clear here that there was a McDonald's-chain mentality in terms of how things would be run. I've been in situations like this before and I hate those types of talks. Even if they are required.

It comes a close second to a certain beatup, orange couch that was laid out in the middle of a particular Baltimore projects.   :)
