Cost of sandwiching two completely unrelated plots together…
We keep going back and forth between Lwaxana's story and the Killer Sparkly Jello Shitting Monster story and I'm getting whiplash. Neither of the plots seem to interact or connect with each other. At least "Birthright" had the common theme of fathers

Scandal…what a pisser!
Poor Josh, the forgotten victim of this episode. Meanwhile, Wesley gets held back a year when he should probably be rotting in jail alongside…well nobody apparently. Even Locarno gets a comparative slap-on-the-wrist. True, he's no longer a Starfleet goody-goody so he'll probably go into

But Scruggs, we GET IT almost immediately when Picard does his voice-over, you know what the episode is going to be about and how unnecessary it is to preach to the choir as it were. WE GET IT! That's the main point, isn't it? Anything else is merely televisual masturbation for the sake of self-important

The "3" was not necessary as Data picked a thousand voices all over-lapping each other at that particular point in time. They simply could have isolated that time, sent an audible message saying something along the lines of "Attention, Go with Riker's idea!"

You're kidding right?
"Outcast" is completely unbelievable on so many levels. First, you have Riker, whom - while a horndog - would probably not go for the "he-she" (brings up another issue of just where he's supposed to put it) and Troi would've, in reality, kicked him in the nuts for taking a shine to David Bowie

I always thought "Cause and Effect" should be a two-parter; the second part writes itself, beginning with "There's something we need to discuss" from Picard. That's the effect, see? Cause…and Effect.

My biggest problem with "Eye of the Beholder" had more to do with the workings of reproductive organs and whether or not Troi could walk the next morning!

Sounds like a chicken or egg thing, Walter.

I understand the writers (and fans, to an extent) ascribe certain characteristics of humanity to Data (like we do with pets) - who is a machine, not as basic as a "toaster" as he was once termed - but they are trying to make him human, even when his status as a sentient android makes him special.

Keiko-baby, let's call her Kyoko instead of Molly
What's the point of keeping Keiko's baby in ten-forward while all of this is going down? Since Picard, crew et al value all life equally they shouldn't be swayed by baby-crying, right? So why couldn't Molly exit with the wounded to sick bay? In every 80's/90's

Yes but Picard does shut Beverly down with his "Beverly, I agree but I'm not going to say I agree and you should shut up because I studied Shakespeare with the Queen" speech. Meanwhile, Gates is all "oh shit" when she has to deal with whats-her-nuts!

oh those redundancies! Vulcans and their inner eyelids be damned!

Human in android's clothing?
I don't get the science behind Data succumbing to mental breakdowns - remember he got drunk in "Naked Now", he helped the alien girl in "Pen Pals", he nearly pulled the trigger in "Most Toys", and he shows sympathy for exocomps in "Quality of Life" - just because he yearns to be human does

I know that in many feudal/warrior cultures, there are options for ritual suicide, but this sort of adds a whole other cavalier, unlikable (not to mention cowardly) dimension to Klingon politics. Oh, and we all know ultimately Worf decides not to end his life because he doesn't want his son to kill him? Wouldn't

A'ight
"Power Play" was one of my personal favorites. I love how Troi gets all bad-ass, and I mentioned last week, she's never sexier (not even in that episode where she turns into a crazy old woman). The whole thing is Troi-centered; it's her fault they go down to begin with. Similar to "Conundrum" because we have

Remember the limited edition "Radioactive Man" comic book where they get killed on every page? That's sort of what Voyager was trying to do - it seemed like every other episode, the ship was destroyed, a duplicate Janeway was created, somebody on the bridge did something dumb-ass, Chakotay mouth-breathed his lines,

I agree with Rowan here. I also don't get the concept of 3D chess since all chess is 3D and the only difference is that there are three levels; I don't think levels are dimensions. I don't know what the actors think they're doing when they're fake-playing the game because they keep (if some of the rules of 1D chess

"Have you tried forcing an unexpected reboot?"

I remember watching Buffy and enjoying up until the musical episode - after that I only intermittently tuned in. Mostly, I think, I was turned off, by the drop in quality - both visually and in the narratives. Watching Buffy when it first aired my wife and I enjoyed it. It was a product of the times. Nowadays in

Starting in the 5th season, Worf and Troi developed a closer relationship when she began to see him and Alexander. Then, when Worf became paralyzed, he asked her to become Alexander's surrogate mother. There wasn't any mention of this again until the 7th season.
