I enjoyed this season, but I was hoping that they were building toward either Mac coming out of the closet or Dennis going full serial killer. Neither happened. Also, I think cutting the season short took something out of it. Overall, I thought the episodes were pretty strong.

While I don't always agree with the reviews at this site, I'm always amazed at the level of detail that each show is picked apart and analyzed. Other review sites pale in comparison.

When they showed the Doakes flashback in the previews for the season finale, I lost all hope that Doakes' return would be some big reveal.

I enjoyed it too. I can't believe that the reviewer was trying to make a case that last season's awful finale was better. It was so bad, that I almost quit watching the show. The only thing that got me back was the excellent trailer for this season
