Not giving two fucks about the characters, I won't go that far, but I cared a lot more about the characters in Season 1 for sure.

I think what Saul and Carrie pulled on Allison to lure her out felt more like a 'ruse'. I'm not sure how Litvinov fits in either though.
I was so happy when they got that line in. That bit from the movie is one of my favorite dialogues ever.
Sweet drive-by, dude. Definitely some Internet points for you.
This was not the night of Evie's disappearance. Different deal. Kevin was in the ground because Michael buried him.
Shock! I wasn't expecting to see the word 'sleepy' here. I was totally into all the flashbacks, and loved Carrie cracking it open with an obscure bit of information she retained. Quinn's situation got a lot more interesting. Saul didn't do much of anything, true enough there.
you have to realize Allison gets nowhere near the screentime as a Brody, or the co-leads of The Americans. She is a supporting character.
comparing development of supporting characters to lead characters
The reviewer saw the point of the scene, maybe you should read it.
Claire Danes breaks my heart again with that videotape.
That was surprisingly heartless for Showtime, wasn't it? Weird. The showrunner had said he just needed one more season to wrap it up. Then he said OK, how about a movie. Got nothing. I don't even know you any more, Showtime.
The Wire is a precedent for an ensemble-based show, sure. It is not a precedent for revamping a show to such an extent five seasons in. If the re-conception is so brilliant, why not do it as a new series where you don't have any of the baggage of the old show and not confusing the heck out of viewers of the old…
Oh yeah, that silly Showtime. Those other networks kill off their main characters played by Emmy winners all the time..
I guess we'll have to respectfully disagree on Carrie, but what you're talking about, I just don't think is realistic. There's a reason there is no precedent for this. When people are fans of a TV show, they don't want to it be entirely up-ended. Maybe, maybe for some kind of fringe show it's an idea that could…
The Wire followed a LOT of characters. Shifting away from McNulty didn't really change the overall show that much.
This is now a problem for you five seasons in?
Nahh no team, just hope he gets plenty of time. Eight episodes is a huge amount of work.
Polygon has some really thorough episode recaps. Maybe TOO thorough but might want to check them out.
Binging would probably help. I think some people struggle with the retention week to week. I follow it fine but I also don't watch that many other shows. Also, Season 1 had very little plot in comparison.
the hell does that mean
