I don't think Black Flag was upset over 'lack of permission' so much as complete lack of songwriting credit.

Season five you mean..
Ice Haven!
Both sides have valid points. Dee wasn't given much funny material in the early seasons, but then again, I feel the first three are a step above the rest, with two as the peak. Sunny does sometimes randomly have a character act sane for no good reason and it doesn't always feel justified. I'm not sure why people are…
Ram is amazing. I'd start there. You might not be blown away by it at first, but it grows on you fast. Kinda surprised Band on the Run isn't listed up above, but that's probably the most accessible one.
"Their songs dealt with dark, overtly sexual themes that hadn't really been touched upon in pop music before & Nico came out"
Just because Ennis is more focused on grimy details doesn't mean that Kubert is any lesser.
Which begs the question of why this is a good idea. It's not a proven property and the Walking Dead (show) doesn't really have much going for it beyond the zombie effects. Oh, and the humanity.
I don't understand what those hair metal albums are doing there. I'm not going to go to bat for every single one of his albums but he did some interesting stuff in the late 70s that seems to always be overlooked.
I said something similar in the last comics panel, but I really respect the reviews here because they're pitched just right. My tastes skew towards underground comics and newspaper strip reprints these days but it's really hard to figure out what superhero stuff might be worth my time and this is one of the few places…
I think Yee Yee has a mostly true statement that doesn't quite apply to this show (and really shouldn't have invoked Hanna-Barbara; let's pretend he said Disney). The art didn't appeal to me at first but it has character and the facial expressions are pretty varied for something on Cartoon Network. If nothing else…
I have had a big crush on her since Raising Hope premiered.. The fact that she doesn't care if she looks good as long as she's funny really does it for me. If I was attracted to guys I'm sure I'd say the same about Garret. Those two consistently steal the show.
Anyone who thinks this is a valid complaint needs to watch Chevy's stint on SNL. EVERY SINGLE EPISODE starts with a pratfall joke leading to the "Live from New York…. etc." Just like in Community, they often are meta about it. Lorne will talk to Chevy about the fall they have planned that week or Chevy will say he…
I'd be really happy if the comics coverage was more frequent, but I understand why it isn't. It's really hard to find a site that has equal respect for mainstream and underground comics. My tastes tend to the latter for sure, but I'm also not one of those guys who sneers at anything mainstream that doesn't involve…
Don't forget the occasional anatomical mishap.
The Tick didn't really brood. He pontificated on reality, but he did so in a manner consistent with his character. That aspect of the character carried over, quite successfully.
Like that famous quote of how Nixon became president even though 'no one I know voted for him.'
I think he's referring more to the continued fanbase of those DC cartoons. Have you watched the Spiderman or X-Men cartoons lately? Awful.
I was really excited when she showed up. Then I realized Ray Wise was in the same scene and he overshadowed the fuck out of her.
There are some other Nick shows that aged well, they're just not live action. Ren and Stimpy's John K era is pretty timeless and a Rocko's Modern Life gets fantastic in the second season.
