I find it slightly annoying when Liz Lemon pauses a conversation with someone and does some "witty" shtick and isn't shot down for trying too hard (especially when it's in front of Jack and it usually is) but otherwise she's same as she ever was to me.

Usually Best Buy has a sale right before Christmas where all HBO sets are half off, but other than that their prices remain pretty fixed.

Also: HBO sets are ridiculously expensive considering they almost never have extensive special features. Sometimes they don't have any.

I'd like more season dvds to be released promptly. If I'm trying to catch up with a show before the current season it can sometimes be a hassle to marathon the last season in a week.

@avclub-29501df08e5d9ae59e432e4f188d3735:disqus Captain Beefheart in 1980 maybe? There were some risky choices in the 70s but that's the last one I can think of offhand.

@PutSomeRanchOnIt:disqus I found learning about the technical aspects of making the stage show and later the movie just increased my appreciation of the whole thing.

I thought the character of Ashley was the weakest part of season one. He was pretty funny, but didn't seem to inhabit the same world as Kenny Powers, he just seemed like Will Ferrell doing his Will Ferrell shtick.

But they act like the show is not supposed to be funny ever. Some great moments do occur. Hank sometimes is not a complete fuckup. Every single talk show host is prime had bad moments. It's what happens when you need to fill five hours a week.

I think you guys are over-estimating how lame the fictional show is supposed to be sometimes.

But The Jagger/Bowie one has that hillarious homoerotic video.

Lobsters - I don't think Dancing in the Streets is a bad song by itself, but it is over covered and Van Halen does a terrible version of it. Is it as bad as that Mick Jagger/David Bowie version though? Hmmm…

"The man's every burp and fart was genius and you're a philistine if you
don't appreciate every bit of half-assed noodling he knocked out over
lunch"

Moral Oral. I can't see how it could be anything else.

Zappa fans who argue technical details about the music would probably be hard to deal with, but most Zappa fans I know are accepting of the fact that it's not for everybody. Granted, show some interest and I'll talk your ear off about great albums to start with, but I know when to show some restraint.

Pollard fans are pretty cultish too, it's just a cult that involves beer. There really is a certain subset of fan that seems to spend all of their free time listening to Bob.

Morrisey is such a witty guy, but most of his fans I meet in real life seem to take themselves really seriously.

Man, fuck this review. At the time of this album's release the Ramones had ONE greatest hits album. Yeah, the market got flooded with them after that, but this is still by far the best. Johnny's track selections weighed far too heavily towards Dee Dee's material. This two disc collection has one song from Subterranean

His stuff very rarely grabs me at first listen. If you've heard that greatest hits album a few times and nothings caught you, it's just not for you.

I'd put him way above Malkmus. His solo stuff reeks.

Another GBV record in May. Class Clown Spots a UFO.
