I thought the strength in being a feminist is having the freedom to choose how you want to live. So while Shoshanna may not look like Rosie the Riveter while watching Baggage on her days off, it's ultimately her choice.

"a movie like the bucket list isn't made for people like us, and as awful as it may be, the intended audience eats that shit up."
Seems like his new marketing tactic is to put as many people between Rihanna and now so everyone forgets what he did in the first place.
Grimes, despite her often-irritating persona, made an amazing album last year, and her past EP's and albums have also been solid. Like others have pointed out before, I'm sick of the shit electronic music receives on AVC. Visions never even made it into the year-end list.
@avclub-2d1a8576a32b4278fdaa86ddd9341276:disqus Yeah, agreed. Channel Orange was one of my favorites of 2012, but I can't back up Duke's opinion that you can't find Ocean's aesthetic elsewhere. Please, even Kanye pulls off minimalism in his tunes.

Something about that phrase immediately made me think of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
@eric827:disqus I'm with you, I was watching an online stream of the show and I'm eternally grateful that my internet crashed during that part. Can't remember the last time Wiig or Ferrell were funny.
Jake - Finn, what's more important? Your love for that screwball dame, or being a hero and saving the lives of innocent goblin folks?
Finn - Arghhh…being a hero.
I'm usually pretty calm on AVC
but I FUCKING HATE THAT GUY
I wholeheartedly agree.
Yeah, Arnold's city had way too many alleys for it not to allude to Chicago. Probably a cross between NY/Chi/SF.
I've been re-watching it off and on the past few months, and like everyone here, I was amazed by how well it held up. I was in elementary school when I started watching the show, in a fairly dense neighborhood in Chicago, so it's no surprise I got hooked.
The Flood is still probably in my top 5 episodes. Plus any…
Where's the Ice King when you need him?
This is the man.

I listened to Grimes' Halfaxa and King Krule's unreleased songs from when he was Zoo Kid this year. Both artists have always sounded ultra-modern to me, so I'm not sure how much this counts.

I'm speechless that Visions didn't make it here. It is the sound of 2012. Granted, this is anecdotal evidence, but I've met so many disparate people this year that loved it that I thought it was a shoe-in for album of the year.

Grimes - Visions, end of story
