To add on to Pervy Obit's post, I'd say the later seasons, especially the last season, almost "neccistated" (sp?) a more serialized take, as the strike team's spiral was just getting more and more intense and compelling, especially Shane's story. Too much procedural stuff would have just been a distraction after a

Eric, Scrawler- I'm S1 Ep12 with my wife.  Why it took us so long to get to this I have no idea. We LOVE it. And the grit/art combo is really "poetic" or something. so cool

Please do not put Jagger and Tyler in the same category, musically or otherwise.

People go to Buffett concerts for the same reason I go to Cubs games - to get drunk outside.

my 40 year old wife, and many other girls i know, refer to themselves and other women as girls.  It's not that big of a deal. There are other things to fret about I believe.

I really doubt he made a mint in the 70's - it seems like management and the record companies always made money, but the artists didn't, exceptions the Stones and Zeppelin. By the 80's I'm sure he was making big cash. But doesn't it seem to always run out? I mean, that was 30 years ago, divorce, etc….

He does not have a "great" voice, but certainly did an admirable job, and it's a very cool movie.

wow that's bleak and eloquent. well done.

The Corrections and The Road gave me the same feeling. Absolutely enthralled reading both (The Road more), but I do not want to go back there, and when I recommend either, comes with specific and lengthy cautions.

i have to disagree on Hayden C.  He was so, so bad. I imagine Heath Ledger could have really made it work, and could have turned 2 - 2.5 star movies into 3 stars, maybe even 3.5 stars for Ep III. (I know, numerical ratings = dumb for art, just trying to make a very simple point).

…is not that great

Song's a bit silly, but that picture is great.

i agree with this.  As far as the VIPs, funny line for sure, but I don't think that's a terrible thing. He's going to have that handful of fans at every show that love "The Boss" and have made a lot of money along the way, so why not charge for it and give them a unique experience (however 2k is nuts. I hope that's

Dan Savage may be the most talented columnist I'e ever read, even if I get a little tired of the subject matter sometimes.  He's totally on point, sniffs out BS, and is entertaining.

what's the diff? because the Conchords songs are pretty "full" songs? I'd tend to agree.

hang on now - Ledger really made the Joker into something fantastic.  Agree it's a plum role, but he didn't just phone it in.

PLEASE tell about the date. I am NOT being a prick here.  It's very interesting how something can be going great for hours then evaporate in a moment.

I know I'm lame here, but can someone please give me reliable key words to search on to find those phone pics? I half-assed tried once, got nowhere.

Nobody "wallow[s] in self-pitying martyrdom" to feel good. Some may use it as a crutch, but it's not a feel good.

OverlyDramatic - I agree with you, and I know all these guys are consulted to the hilt. I just tend to think in this case that would be a lot of time/energy put into something that 98% of Americans would respond with "huh? what is The Wire? Is that like the Office? Who's Omar?"
