Oh, and thanks Keith. I was hoping that was either given away early in or just not that big of a revelation, so I'm a little more curious now.

Honestly, yes. I think I admired just how bug-fuck nuts it was. Whereas most apocalyptic thrillers are content to just excite, Knowing played with philosophy, religion, belief, doubt, and the nature of the universe, all while spinning a great yarn.
Diaz's spoiler
How much does knowing what Diaz said at Comic-Con ruin the movie? It makes it sound pretty terrible, but then again, I'm a giant defender of KNOWING, which was WAY more insane-sounding.
Agreed with Mofraist…
…except that I think the whole thing is one of the best trailers I've seen in a long time. That first minute is amazing, but the long second half, combined with the music and that final return to the beat…
Website
Actually, now that the ep's run, savewalterwhite.com is actually up as the site Walter Jr designed. The donation link goes to a cancer foundation - a nice touch.
El Zilcho - agreed. This is the first time since THE WIRE that I find myself saying OUT LOUD "No, no, no, don't do that" to the characters. I wanted to find Walt at the end of the ep and just smack him.
A little harsh, maybe?
Check out Sepinwall's take on the episode, Donna. I feel like you're being a little harsh on it. First off, it's obvious that the show is gearing up for a finale, but I disagree that it wasn't character driven. One of the thing Sepinwall points out is how driven this episode is by temptation -…
That high five, and that final scene
Loved the high five, but as much as the happiness, that almost animal savage glee in Walt's face was chilling. He's completely getting his rocks off here.
Are you talking the lieutenants? They think it's Jesse - they told Walt that "we remember who you're working for," implying that it's Jesse they don't want to mess with.
Best line of the show. Badger is fucking hilarious.
It's definitely still up for grabs, but between that and Andrew opening the silverware drawers as he walked in, it definitely came across as tho he's a little interested in stuff that's not his. I don't know for sure, but we'll see.
The shoe
I thought it was fairly obvious that Andrew was a klepto, stealing shoes from the royal family. Remember when the queen's shoe went missing?
You know, I had avoided finding out who was playing Bell. Kind of lame of you to spoil it and not just post the link.
I'm a little scared to say it, but I'm kinda with ZMF here. I always thought NoES was a great concept that would benefit from a remake - it needs a good budget and a strong director. I'm not sure that it has either, but Haley is an inspired choice. (I would have loved Thornton in the role, though.)
No, totally. Now they can say "Well, he was asleep, dude, so you see strange stuff when you sleep!" TOTALLY better.
Yay for the corrections! But, wow, are they ever making this into a dick move. "Hey, you know that mistake we made? Well, it's not a mistake. But we'll pander to you whiny babies and give you a new version."
AV Talk?
Keith - PLEASE tell me you guys are doing an AV talk on this. I don't know if it's a success or a trainwreck, but "unique" is definitely the right word - you gotta admire the fact that something like this sneaks through into cinemas, because it's pretty WTF-inducing.
HeyHey - thanks. Seems like mine might have either been an early screening, or just filtered through his mental retardation. Either way, you're right - that ending definitely wouldn't have made the film worth watching. The shopping is a nice touch, though.
By the way, all typos are courtesy of the literate and wonderful denizens of the IMDb. God, crawling through that place makes me feel like a genius.
The ending (SPOILERS, yo)
After braving the IMDb comments, here's what I found regarding the ending. I don't see how this is "topical" in any way, or anything less than stupid, but here you go:
