Yeah he's the love interest. He was introduced as the love interest and it was always obvious he was going to be one why does that matter? I really don't see how the "why" of the character being introduced somehow makes him less valuable to the show which you seem to be arguing that love interests who aren't total

What I'm getting from this post is that you seem to be irked by couples who make sense together and have a lot in common. So what if it was obvious from the start they'd get together and April/Andy was a surprise? Ben and Leslie are good together and they make each other happy. Neither is the be all end all to each

Until that happened I was convinced they were communicating telepathically.

I usually try to pay the most attention to Mac's reactions during scenes like this because he always seems to be the one who gets to see Dennis at his darkest and he should probably be used to it by now but he never ever is.

Nah, Dennis is as close to being a rapist/murderer as you can possibly get without actually being one. That's what makes it funny as opposed to… Family Guy.

Yeah that did make me a little sad. I mean come on Ann! I know you weren't that into him but Tom gets a fucking box? They dated for like a year!

So are Maureen and Dennis back together? If he just has to keep paying her alimony I don't know why he'd be freaking out as much as he was

I don't mind them when it's a couple I actually root for, care about and the writing promises to be solid see Ben/Leslie vs. Barney/Quinn on How I Met Your Mother and when I know the wedding is most likely actually going to happen and not be ruined by bullshit drama. Again: HIMYM Barney/Quinn.

You two are making me want to read some old reviews out of morbid curiosity as to how….anyone….in the world…EVER….could not be in love with this show.

Michael and Holly's proposal scene was pretty damn sweet but this one had the added element of surprise so if it is a competition I'd say this one wins. By a lot.
