there was an extended scene where the Dwarves had to fight giant bugs while Gandalf punched a T-Rex in the face. which. actually sounds awesome out of context but doesn't really fit with the rest of the narrative.

I'm sure the 4 hour runtime cut into the profits somewhat. Overall I'd say it was PRETTY GOOD, if padded. I didn't really mind the added stuff from the appendices and Silmarillion but there were several scenes that just went on too long and most of what I didn't like were all about spectacle and not about story.…
