The biggest gripe I have with the pilot can probably not be remedied: Tatiana Maslany is both too generic looking and too young for me to take her seriously in this role. The former may be intentional, but if you're going to make me believe in clones, have me recognize them at once and not only if they are put right

Different strokes. From all the nerd hyperventilation (served mainly by The Nerdist which I saw before I saw this show), I expected something great, and what I got was enjoyable cheese. It has potential, yes, I've seen shows start worse and turn out great. But I seriously hope this gets fine-tuned in the next few

Eh, it's very much in line with the horrible fake German accent that sounded like a mixture between Russian and a Russian getting strangled.

You could be describing the "Eurosignal", a very early form of paging call transmission across Europe at the lower end of the VHF band: http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Yes, I got a distinct Star Trek-ish vibe from this episode, like it could be very well lifted from one of the earlier seasons of TNG. The Tree People could have easlily passed as aliens-of-the-week in just about any Star Trek series which usually involve regular people under a thick layer of face prosthetics.

Even at the standardization-less status quo, a B+ would indicate that this was one of the best episodes 2 Broke Girls did. So, clearly, the reviewer's name alludes to being a pilot traveling between ours and an alternate universe. Presumably one where he watched this episode in delight while he enjoyed horse droppings

"Look, I don't wanna put a rat in your face-cage, or whatever you kids say nowadays."

Unfortunately, after only four regular episodes, this show already turned out to be what I was fearing all along: Its style, while initially impressive, quickly became rather monotone. The stories are only marginally more than instantly forgettable macguffin-of-the-week plots. And the characters turn out to be

You're absolutely right, as far as the character design is concerned, they clearly took a great deal of inspiration from Peter Chung's quite excellent Æon Flux. I can't, however, find any reference to him in any production notes.

Here you go, although I cannot promise it will alleviate your disappointment:

"By comparison, HIMYM is practically vaudevillian in its broad and exaggerated emotions"

That was my first thought, too, and I am still very much convinced that John K. had little if anything to do with this piece of garbage. Whatever his involvement with the coch gag was, the animation itself is miles off and most certainly not directed by him. It's as if somebody who has never seen John K.'s work took
