if Nora's tale is true then what happened to all those orphaned children? Did the baby in the carseat die in a hot car? I literally wept all night thinking of how traumatic it must have been for all the departed kids who lost their folks. (new mom here).

This is spot on. This episode finally revealed that in three years Kevin has not told Nora about anything that transpired at the end of the last season. That is HUGE.
