While not every song sounds the same I can't imagine how all these instrumental bands keep their material straight live. I guess it makes it easier when there aren't many synchronized parts, like a "chorus" or "ending" and they can all just sort of get there together.

Wait—
What?

GNR!

Look who's talking.

Mailman, Head Down, Limo Wreck, Fresh Tendrils, and 4th of goddam July were what made Superunknown awesome.

I'm with Jaybird except I'd have to argue that while clear, the production is a little thin, which does date it compared with more contemporary music. This and Faith No More's Angel Dust are glorious albums whose sound just don't quite live up to the music.

I knew her from the Passion of the X and the MatriChrist. I used to think I'd watch her in anything; now, not so much.

Oh, THAT guy.
Louis CK is a name I'd heard comics talk about almost reverently for years before his show got on FX and I finally checked him out, and now I can't get enough of him. Most interviews with giant block paragraphs seem like they'll be a drag but I hear this in his voice and it's much less off-putting.

I'm glad I didn't find LB inescapable. Thanks, universe.

I'll put a buck on White Zombie being mentioned in the next article.

While Mindcrime was their magnum opus, Empire is clearly the masterpiece.

What's sadder?
Subjecting oneself to sad attempts at comebacks, or never breaking up during thirty flavorless, tentative, and forceless years never becoming hip?

That subway is one of the best examples of good sound design. You don't see it, and there's no reason for it to be there from a storytelling perspective, but its addition conveys so much both in enhancing the tension of the moment and reflecting what's going on in a character's head. Imagine if it wasn't there!

We listen to Slacker's Kids station a lot and they ran ads for Paranormal Activity 2 in between Raffi and the Backyardigans for a month straight.

I wish EV was a girl so I could buy it flowers and take it to a picnic where we pedal boats shaped like swans. I mean, I want to have sex with the other records, but this one I want to give it homemade presents and sit holding hands just staring at it.
It's also the first time it feels like Josh wrote complete songs.

Wait, why is Tad in that category?

Holy shit, did Arsenio just say Trendkill is Pantera's best?! If this were Metal Box that would have hijacked the thread.

Great, so you guys don't like rock records. Gotcha.

Having said that, Dysfunction was (and I think still is) a good record. I think the comparison of Aaron Whatsisname to Layne was more due to his melodies than the timbre of his voice.
