I once asked for and was given his "War of the World" book for Christmas one year, before I knew anything about his reputation.  It now sits unread on my shelf because I'm not sure I want to invest the time into that colossus of a book if it was written by such a giant turd, but at the same time I'm a little

You're about two seasons too many, but otherwise I agree.

@avclub-29639d6c421c85be2b1d77158fc0b4a3:disqus I stayed overnight in a hotel at Socorro once when on a road trip through the Southwest, and I am not at all surprised to hear the town has a meth problem.

It also gave us some fantastic episodes of Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Yeah, it will definitely sound even better once the weather turns into fall and winter.

"Pedestrian Verse" and "Like Clockwork" are two of my favorite albums this year.  Excellent choices.

Funny, I just finished reading the 33 1/3 series entry about Television's "Marque Moon", and in it there's a quote from Debbie Harry regarding Fred Smith leaving Blondie for TV, and she came across as still being bitter about it.

You need new friends.

Best part was seeing Heartless Bastards playing a great, intimate show for an enthusiastic hometown crowd.  One of the best rock bands working today.

I like Avery, but he looked like he was hating every minute of it (and likely was).  Not that I can blame him.  I can't stand Navarro, and while Perry Farrell was entertaining for a few minutes, he quickly turned annoying.

I forgot about "The Counselor".  Very excited for that.

Breaking Bad.
Inside Llewyn Davis.
New Arcade Fire (cautiously optimistic).
Seeing Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, and (hopefully) Built to Spill this fall.  Not all at the same show, of course.

Something something of Moo Mesa?  Does that ring a bell?

My own mid-80s/early 90s childhood version of this would look something like:

I love that version of "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter".

Heart-Shaped Box and All Apologies are the ones on the album he's talking about.  The third song is Pennyroyal Tea, but the Scott Litt remix is only included on the "Nirvana" best-of (the one that included "You Know You're Right").

Wait, child-killer?

They haven't said, but part of me highly doubts it.

"Sappy", "MV", "I Hate Myself and Want to Die", "Verse Chorus Verse", Oh, the Guilt", Curmudgeon", "Do Re Mi".

"Do Re Mi" is fantastic.
