I think what you took as guilt was really awkwardness at being present for anything that had to do with the Freys, seeing as she was the reason this whole problem.

That just amplified the stunned silence in the room of mostly non-readers that I watched it with.  It was fantastic.

I always liked the Starks, and watching this was a huge punch to the gut, all over again.

That was a brilliant choice by the showrunners.  I watched this episode with a mix of folks who had read the books and those who hadn't, and you could have heard a pin drop when the episode ended.  No one wanted to say a word.

Yeah… I think I would strongly discourage my wife from watching this show if she ever showed any interest in doing so.  But since her only brief exposure to GoT was walking in during one of the scenes where Drago was raping Dany, that solved that problem then and there.

Pretty wrong.  The early to middle section from "Everybody Knows You Are In Sane" through "In My Head" is nearly flawless.  The back half of it can be a little rougher if you're not in the right mood, but other than "Skin on Skin" they're still all good songs.

@avclub-651468b37f95f5f421cccbf8fb7ee376:disqus Yes, but to be fair, I gave you one back.

I'm with you; the songs featuring Oliveri were often among my least favorite.  Maybe Homme will never make anything like the original "trilogy" of albums again without Oliveri, but that's okay by me.

Biggest complaint:  Needs more Mark Lanegan.

Thanks!  Yeah, Truckfighters are awesome.  Dozer is another band I've heard of but never took the time to get into, so I'll check them out.

Wouldn't mind seeing a GTG or Primer for desert rock in general.  I love QOTSA and Kyuss, but I've never looked much further than that (I do like Masters of Reality too).  I never spent enough time investigating desert/stoner rock bands like Fu-Manchu and Fatso Jetso to know if they're any good.

The first?  I dunno, you probably can't go wrong with either of the first two.  The third isn't bad either.

That episode was fantastic, and introduced me to one of my favorite cocktails.

Are you talking about this episode?  She was skinny the whole time.  That's why that sleazy dude hit on her while Henry was using the phone.

You realize there is usually at least a month between each episode, right?

Nope.

Yeah, B- means it must have some significant problems since it falls right into the "average" category.

I finally finished Wolf Hall, which I really enjoyed, but I'm going to take a short break before starting the second book in the series.  Instead, with yesterday being Memorial Day,  I started reading Band of Brothers.  It's been on my list for years, and this seemed like a good time to read it.

Eek! the Cat & the Terrible Thunderlizards.

JSA has been on my "to watch" list for quite awhile, but it hasn't happened yet.  Maybe I should bump the priority up a little.
