This list is fairly suspect. I'm struggling to think of how Avatar is western. I saw Galaxina, that was just a sci-fi spoof with one brief western-looking scene. Star Wars is a space fantasy, not a space western.

I remember a driving scene with quick cuts to the moving road that did a good job of simulating the effects of sleep deprivation. I also remember Pacino being muted and Swank being charming, as the article says.

For me, it was the moment that Doakes died, because he was the one character who provided a credible threat to Dexter's continued existence. After that it was like there's just no stakes.
