You might find mindfulness practice helpful. Jon Kabat-Zinn has a book on using mindfulness to help with depression that my therapist recommended highly.

I am admittedly very biased about this, but there is something to lose - precious time that we can never, ever get back. Sometimes the learning is worth it, but IMO there may be more efficient learning that can be done with a therapist or a meditation practice or the hookup app of your choice.

Sure, I'd agree that, generally, Pete probably hasn't grown up as much as Harry. I was thinking specifically of their sleaziness, I suppose - Harry definitely gets more disgusting as the show goes on. Which really bums me out, actually, because I actually mostly liked early series Harry.

I'm not aware of any hate crimes laws in the US that allow the prosecutor to only prosecute the "hate" part. Hate crimes laws are typically sentencing enhancements - you have to be convicted of the underlying crime, and then extra punishment will be tacked on because of the hate aspect.
