"I don't think Debbie ever got over her Cooter dying." Who could?

I love this show
I love this show, and I'm so excited that it showed up on the A.V. Club. Carrie, everything you wrote is exactly how I've felt about this season. I totally agree it's not high art, but I love it with zero guilt. In fact, I keep trying to get my friends to watch it so I have someone to talk to about

I wasn't calling Todd lazy, I was calling the TV show writers lazy. That, however, was before I realized I thought the actress' name was her characters name. Rupert Galvin, though…no excuses.

Laziness
Mentor Rupert Galvin? Like…Rupert Giles?
Quirky best girlfriend Ruby Grainger? Like Hermione Granger?

Ballard going in to save only Caroline bugged me too. I love Melli/November, and though his reason for not wanting to save her is understandable, it still sucks. He doesn't seem concerned that maybe SHE is there against her will also. And what about all of the other Dolls? He just seemed obsessed with saving Caroline,

The Downside to Tudyk Being Alpha
No more Tudyk/Penikett buddy cop hilarity.
I quite enjoyed Paul helping Alpha down into the Dollhouse. "Riding up, riding up, I gotta wedgie" (or something to that effect)

True…and I guess it can be kind of blamed on the network forcing the first five stand alone episodes — they got little plot points in here and there, but it sure didn't allow for momentum to be gained.

which is why it needs a second season! Preaching to the choir, I know. I just don't know very many shows that are fully formed by the end of the first season, or the first 13 episodes. I think this is just like an introduction, and hopefully it will be allowed to become more fully formed next season.

From what it looks like, Alpha is genius enough to create his own imprints. So, that could be who they were…or it could be his own creation — He's full of so many imprints, maybe he's filled her with a crapload of imprints too…similar to the one's he has.

I did not get that Saunders was a doll AT ALL. Now I have to watch it a third time!

Joss Whedon: Made for Basic Cable?
Interesting article about how Joss Whedon might fare on Basic Cable

I'm with you. There's no way he couldn't kiss her, lest the Dollhouse find out that he knows she's a Doll and they turn her into killing machine Mellie.
That scene gave me goosebumps, it completely justified Paul's growing paranoia, he learned he's exactly the same (and will have to continue being exactly the same) as

Lincoln, I was thinking that too!!! Some FBI agent! There's a large amount of unnecessary skin on this show, which I am not complaining about.

Well, I think Victor's glitch is his feelings for Sierra.
And Sierra's would be recalling her attacks.

Daisy - To me the insecurity issues were part of her imprint of Mellie, I wouldn't count that as a glitch. As for the remembering stuff from when she was Mellie, I thought that was because of that weird chemical they all ingested…or are they counting those who were infected as "the glitched"? I watched it last night,

I was thinking maybe the death of November's daughter may have been November's fault…maybe it was something she couldn't handle, and instead of dealing with it entered the Dollhouse.

I feel like all of Whedon's shows, and most 1st season Sci-Fi shows have primarily stand alone episodes with little bits of master plot here and there. I guess to establish rules, characters, etc. Then the following seasons grow more and more complex.

I hope Fox doesn't close the door right away…I want to see how this progresses.
