I guess my real issue is that they take an aesthetic judgement (Vinyl/Magnetic Tape sounds better/more raw than digital) and they conflate it with the Rock/Punk/Indie ethic, when the two couldn't be more separate (IMHO).
My biggest problem with the "Computers=Bad, Tape Machine=Good" thing is that it ignores the fact that quality analog recording is prohibitively expensive.

Yes there are people who would claim that it's morally acceptable and even commendable to pirate media but those are just a vocal minority. I can only speak for myself but I've noticed that downloading unlicensed copies of media is my last resort.
