I mean, Dark Savior was the spiritual sequel to Landstalker on the Saturn. It was sort of a depressing game, but it was good.

I support both Phantasy Star V and Skies of Arcadia 2 wholeheartedly.

I'd even settle for a full compilation of Shining Force III parts 1-3. I wouldn't mind going through part 1 again and I'm sure fans translated the other two parts and made them available as ROMs at some point, but I never bothered to track them down.

Yeah, Kinberg seems much closer to a Scott Lobdell analogue than Chris Claremont. A guy who can be a really good writer in certain situations but mostly is just okay and occasionally completely ruins things, either from his own bad ideas or by editorial fiat.

I suppose this is what you get when you don't have a couple of guys whose jobs are essentially keeping the overarching film continuity in order. Which, to be fair, is probably a harder job with Fox's mess of an X-Universe than Marvel's meticulously planned MCU.
