Joe Anderson was, um, acceptable, on The River. In that he was not great at first but got somewhat better over the 8 episodes. His American accent left something to be desired, though.

If they really think the banjo and acoustic arrangements are what was limiting them, then I have no confidence that this new album will be any good. Far be it from me to give advice to one of the few multiple-million selling musical acts to emerge in the past decade, but maybe writing better and more varied songs…
That was my pick for most egregious episode left off this list. Hell, I'm not sure I'd even want to watch the PBS hour-long Anatomy of a Homicide making of about that episode again.
I dunno, man, he plays a vampire hunter on another show, so he might put up a fight.
I'm a little behind on reading TV Club reviews this year since I'm much busier at work than over the last few years, but I have to say I'm shocked that there isn't regular coverage of The Jinx: The Life and Times of Robert Durst. This has quickly become my most-anticipated show of the week, and we're not even talking…
Yeah, I mean, he immediately went crawling back to France, never to work for Hollywood again, so I can't imagine the movie is all that beloved to him.
I missed him when he did his concerto here with the Houston Symphony, so I'm looking forward to this record.
Lagwagon?
RIP, Harris. You helped make Parks and Rec amazing and your fumbling attempts to explain Phish to Aukerman were super-entertaining. Although after listening to that final episode of Analyze Phish, I can't say this really surprises me. It definitely saddens me, though.
One sings through his nose but writes catchier songs. The other doesn't sing through his nose, but his songs aren't quite as catchy. Neither of them ever gave a shit about how badly they came off as live performers. At least back in the day when I managed to see them three times by just generally being into other…
But they haven't been pissy and self-righteous about it, maybe?
I'll disagree with that assessment. In Keeping Secrets is one of my top 10 albums of the 00's.
Frances has some amazing passages offset by equally tedious passages. "L'via L'viaquez" is probably the only track that actually works all the way through.
I know they definitely started filming it, yeah. Who knows how far they got.
I was really holding out hope that the sequel did what the first movie should've done, which is just grab a set of stories from the book, awkwardly insert Brad Pitt's character into the middle of it, and film it.
The original third act was zombie Stalingrad with Brad Pitt in the middle of it. But it seems like they didn't actually have an ending or even a real story for the third act beyond "zombie Stalingrad".
I know they have a decent-sized audience that's followed them for decades, so I'll give you that. I also will give you that maybe I have an inflated idea of Mastodon's popularity.
It's really nice of Mastodon to give Clutch a co-headlining slot. Honoring your elders and all that, because, really, that's one of the more unbalanced co-headliners I've ever seen.
Hey, Austinites, is every show at the Moody Theater billed as Austin City Limits Live? Or does this mean there's a chance that Weird Al is going to be on ACL during the 2015-16 season?
I have the same reaction. So if I go see him this time around, I'll probably be good for another 5-6 years. But maybe I'll take my 9-year old daughter, she would probably love it.
