I'm curious about what a Merchant show will look like without any involvement from Ricky Gervais. That being said, Sunday nights are just stacked with shows, so I might not get to this.

First time I saw them was back when "Never There" was their second big hit. Huge enthusiastic crowd at a pretty large club. About halfway through the set he asked the audience to quiet down so he could tune his guitar. They got marginally quieter, but not enough to satisfy McCrea. After a few minutes of messing with…
The story about Sebastian Steinberg pretending to chip in to pay the bill at the restaurant was just amazing to me.
Also, please don't believe Doughty if he's claiming that this is the way he always wanted those songs to sound. Not only was he high while writing and recording most of them, he spent a decade shunning them entirely. This project is the Doughty of 2013 revisiting songs he was never completely satisfied with and…
To be fair, John McCrea, while a super-talented songwriter, is probably the biggest diva (divo?) I have seen live in my years of alternative/indie rock fandom. Out of four Cake concerts I've attended, his prima donna attitude has derailed three of them. Twice temporarily and once completely.
Maybe he was participating in the "weirdest album review" contest that Doughty was runnning?
Yeah, Probst might be an executive producer but he isn't the only one.
Can I once again use this space to voice my displeasure at the restocking of Redemption Island post-merge? If they would just shut it down after the merge it would be a really cool aspect of the game.
Rupert really was awesome on his first season. He's essentially ruined that character in subsequent appearances, but he was amazing back in Pearl Islands.
We know Reynold will be back at some point, right?
@avclub-858b67085072a6f2403cf500871f4068:disqus Well, most people don't have the eye-bugging-out abilities of Eliza. It's a special talent.
Comparing Russell to Colton is definitely an insult to Russell's game. He was way better at sowing the seeds of discontent while keeping a low profile. I mean, people had him figured out by the third time through, but still.
Catherine Lewis was also responsible for that horrible review of the new Neko Case album a few weeks back. So I guess this is par for the course for her.
Argo was my favorite of the movies nominated for Best Picture last year.
Why? Sure it was down a bit (12.3 million compared to its 16 million average last season), but it still easily won its timeslot for the night. It may take a bit of time for CBS' viewers to find the show on its new night, anyway.
It lasted a full 13, but NBC moved it to Saturday nights after a handful of episodes and didn't even broadcast the last 4-5 of them, or even put them up on their website. I had to watch the last few episodes on Youtube, in sections. I really enjoyed it all the way through, though I don't know how they would've gone…
I came to this article really hoping to see Nick Burkhardt on the list. I'm disappointed it took this long for someone to mention him. Grimm would be a better show without him (or Juliet, for that matter). Just Hank and Monroe catching monsters with the help of Rosalee and Wu, under the watchful eye of Capt. Renard.
I loved Rubicon a lot, too. On the other hand, what if it was still on the air and Henry Bromell still passed away after last season? That would've been heartbreaking.
Daniel told Esther right before she got in the truck that they were only probably a couple miles away from town. She didn't leave them to die, she just used the opportunity to get away without having to share the money. Completely in character for her.
I watched every episode and enjoyed the show thoroughly. And I'm glad you've gotten the chance to review something interesting and enjoyable in addition to slogging through Low Winter Sun every week, Dennis.
