When I was on vacation at my parents' place up near Detroit, it aired on time. But back here in Houston, my DVR recorded exactly none of Axe Cop, which seems to be the experience people are having in a lot of markets. If it's going to be delayed every time, Fox needs to do a better job of adjusting it for DVR people.

Conversely, I dragged my wife along to one of their concerts and she went from mildly interested to huge fan. Because they put on a great live show.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully this will have more banjo than last time and at least a little bit of the shouty.

I don't think the breaks between Venture Bros. and South Park are comparable. Aside from the season when Trey and Matt were busy in the spring getting The Book of Mormon up and running, South Park has stuck to a very solid October/November and March/April schedule for a long, long time.

Having heard their "Disarm" cover in concert, I'm pretty dismayed that they decided to put this on the album. What really makes the original song work, I think, is the great arrangement with the cello and the bells, as well as Corgan's pained vocal delivery. Stripping all of that out of their version of the song takes

Well, he is still committed to like 6 other things. I think The Haunted Mansion is officially the next thing on his schedule.

I would just like to say "thank you" to the rest of the world for going to see Pacific Rim. Even though I didn't love the movie, I liked it a lot and I'd sure as hell like to see a sequel.

This idea lasted for about 3 years on TechTV/G4. At first it was a ratings success for the network and it gave us anime fans a way to see some new shows. But the quality level of their lineup was a lot less flashy than [AS] anime (aside from when TechTV ran Last Exile and R.O.D.), and the novelty wore off pretty

Strings is awesome. I also like that he no longer cares about differentiating himself from the Pornographers all that much, so we get tons of Neko Case on that album.

Let's see:

Comicpalooza is getting better as it grows, but it still acts like a small convention. I am very glad that Houston has put itself on the map with a pop culture convention. Especially since I can't get out to Comic-Con every year anymore. But there's nothing quite like SDCC.

His point was that the Con may want to look at reducing the overall number of 4-day passes it gives out as an attempt to ease the crowding problems. He wasn't saying that Comic-Con gives out unlimited numbers of passes.

@avclub-da496e2db2e50a068b4ae5549d4ae1b0:disqus  For me there's nothing like seeing the creators of stuff talk about their stuff. Sometimes that means we get inside dirt on a tv show, or hear a director talk about why they direct, or see a comic creator or author discuss their craft.

I'm missing it this year for only the second time since my first in '03. It's my favorite yearly event, hands-down. Even with the insane crowds and the inability to move freely between panels, it's still a great time to meet up with friends who you usually only talk to on the internet and spend the whole weekend just

That hasn't been the case since about '05. Now all tickets sell out within minutes of going on sale. Which means not only is it more crowded than ever, it's harder and harder to even get into it.

As a 9-time Comic-Con attendee who is 37, I will submit that Comic-Con is worth enduring these kinds of crowds and lines.

Please do that one, Todd. Please.

I went to GenCon once for a day and it wasn't really my scene. But then, I'm not into tabletop RPG's, so I basically wandered the floor and sorta shrugged at the lines for celebrity autographs. Best part of the day was an evening double feature of R.O.D. and Spirited Away.

So this movie is exactly as excruciating and not-funny as the trailer made it look. Squirms and depression and no laughter to defuse the squirms and depression. Well, truth in advertising, I guess.
